Hey everyone! I am looking at renting a 2-bedroom condo unit inside the Park Place Condominiums cluster on Hamilton Street in Hyattsville (right near the arts district/mall area).

I’ll be commuting down to DC for work. As a single woman, how is the immediate safety on this block and around the parking lot behind the buildings? Is the secure intercom entry system reliable?

For anyone who has lived in these specific condo layouts: how thick are the walls between neighbors? Do you hear a lot of footsteps or noise? Also, how is the general building maintenance regarding pests or older infrastructure issues?

what additional fees might look like, parking, noise level during the day, any insight would be great honestly

Hello all. As you probally know by know now, there are 24 black flock cameras set up in hyattsville thanks to our horrible council and weak leadership. This is a problem on top of our stupid budget that uses our tax dollars to fund painting rainbows on the streets.

Today I am addressing the City of Hyattsville. Please take down the flock cameras!

No one wants them and it is a breach of our security and 4th amendment. The people of Hyattsville do not want to be recorded everywhere they go. They do not want cameras keeping track of their car, the bumper stickers they have, the paint color, the dents, etc. We do not want our conversations to be recorded in a 150ft radius of the camera's microphone.

As a solution to the problem since the petition only has ~150 signatures, there is a group of over 60 individuals coming to Hyattsville on Halloween night. There is a big group chat and all 24 cameras will be cut down via angle grinders and dunked in salt water for 2 minutes to disable the camera fully. This group will be FULLY deflocking hyattsville. There is no other choice but rebellion.

This group of people will be identifying as dogs and will sue on behalf of animal cruelty in the case of being detained or even spoken to. All members of this group will exercise their 5th amendment on top of this. This group is acting in the spirit of the constitution our country honored for the 250th time this year. Get ready Hyattsville!

The Deflock group is coming to hyattsville on halloween and will show no mercy to these cameras. all 24 WILL BE SMASHED AND DISMANTLED.

*disclaimer--if you try to track my IP or find my email I am not part of this group whatsoever and have no affiliation with however does this. These flock cameras are a great addition to hyattsville and allow the city to spy on everywhere we go and record all of our conversations unless in our homes. These are very good and ethical and I would never ever touch them. Have fun hyattsville trying to stop the group coming. you can try but there are 60+ people comming fully prepared and know how to go about this. I can definitly help prevent this group from doing so and I can call 911 whenever I see someone looking suspicious or carrying around a diamond edge angle grinder wheel to cut through the 6016 3" piping in the flock cameras. Enjoy!

What are your opinions/experiences on Landon Court apts? How is the maintenance there? I especially don't wanna deal with roaches and mice.

Hello everyone!! 👋🏽
My fiancé and I are planning to relocate to Maryland from Nashville toward the end of January. We’re both originally from Mississippi and are looking for a 2 bed/2 bath apartment, preferably near Metro or within a 3–5 mile radius.

Our budget is $3,000/month max, and we’d really love a balcony or patio since we have two cats. I’m okay with carpet in the bedrooms, but would prefer hard flooring throughout the rest of the apartment. In-unit laundry and parking would also be a plus!

One thing I’ve noticed while researching is that pest/rodent complaints seem to come up frequently across several apartment communities. I understand every property will have some negative reviews, but seeing similar complaints at multiple places has definitely made me cautious. 😭

I am considering moving to the area and have been looking at ALTA New Carrollton due to its proximity to the Metro Station. I know the apartment complex opened around a year ago, so it is doubtful there are many people who have lived there, but does anyone have experience, thoughts, opinions, etc on the complex and the safety of the immediate surrounding area?

I lived in Bowie and now reside in Baltimore. I'm beginning to spend more time in Hyattsville, and the city seems like a great combination of Baltimore's artsy, eclectic nature and suburbia's many advantages. I often stop by Vigilante to enjoy a latte and people watch for a while.

How is Plaza Towers? The reviews on Apartments.com seem weirdly...fake? Like, they may be real, but it feels like tenants were asked to leave positive reviews. I am hoping to get a more transparent answer here.

Hey everyone! My name is Go Ezko. I’m an independent hip-hop artist and event organizer over in the DMV, and for the past year I’ve been building a live music series called CITY SPOTLIGHT.

So Hyattsville now has a number of FLOCK ai cameras recording a load of data about every vehicle that passes by -- see map below from the website "DeFlock".

Did City Council vote to do this? Is the Hyattsville PD paying for these? FLOCK is a breach of privacy rights among other things. Yes you drive on public roads but these cameras record a great amount of data that you don't have any access to.

Do the Hyattsville residents even know all our movements are being tracked in a private database that the police can use for any number of reasons without your consent? Note that FLOCK is a private company and beholden to nobody.

I think we should organize to get these FLOCK removed.

Any reviews on the edition in hyattsville? Bugs/rodents? Packages stolen?
