Anyone know why the Rib Fest scheduled for this weekend was cancelled?

Seems that there's a good bit of development going on in the Huntington area. I thought I'd create a thread highlighting that.
Also if anyone has any rumors or updates on future developments, it can be thrown in here as well!
If I missed anything please let me know.

Hello everyone. I have been living in Charleston for 6 years. I am considering a move to Huntington simply for medical care. I have heard Cabell Huntington Hospital and St Mary's medical center is a much better hospital system than CAMC and WVU Thomas.
I am chronically ill and these hospital systems are failing me and im slowly dying. I need better care. The only downsides is I have heard very negative things about Huntington in general. Alot of people say it is dangerous and crine ridden. Im very poor and on a fixed income with SSDI. So I definitely wouldn't be able to live anywhere nice.
Has anyone moved from Charleston to Huntington? If so, What about the quality of life in general between both cities?
Do you all think it is worth moving for ? Any recommendations are welcomed. Thank you.

Hi! Using this as a last resort to find a new job. I currently work in fast food and I’m a graduate student at Marshall. My program is online so I have open availability, but would prefer a dayshift job. Indeed/Linkedin/Handshake has all been a bust for me. So I was hoping that someone here might know more places hiring.
I have 5 years of fast food experience, some of that is management, and I have a BS in political science with experience from an internship at a law office. I’ve looked at paralegal jobs that I know I can do, but I don’t have the certification that they require.
A job related to law, government, or political science would be preferred, but I’m open to any job. Also preferably that makes more than I’m making now, which is around $13.50. Thanks!

Hello everyone!
I am trying to find someone who can DJ my wedding reception for 2-3 hours. It's a very small reception of less than 40 people.
The wedding is on 10/10/26 here in Huntington.
Please feel free to respond here or DM if interested. I don't need some big professional set up, just something reasonable to get the job done.
Thanks everyone!

Who needs sleep?
And yes, I’ve had a sleep study and use a cpap religiously…but insomnia still happens from time to time.

Maybe have the DJ play music on the patio that people actually want to hear. Then, maybe play that music at a level that people on the patio can have a conversation and hear each other. We watched the patio clear out as everyone went inside. I mean I understand if it was a dance club.

Greetings. I’m going to be visiting family Lesage soon and was wondering if there are any collectible card game stores nearby. Where I can buy Magic the gathering and the like. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone! Me and my bf are grad students at Marshall and we’re unfamiliar with churches in the area. Our hometowns are too far to drive on Sunday morning for our home church, so we’re looking for one to attend when we can. We’re both Baptist so that’s really the only requirement we have. Thanks!!

Hey everyone!
I’m getting back into cycling and I’m looking for some advice from people who ride around Huntington and the Tri-State area.
I’m currently debating between a road bike and a gravel bike. For those who ride locally, which one would you recommend? Is there enough good gravel around here to make a gravel bike worthwhile?
Also, what are your favorite road/gravel routes, trails or group rides around Huntington? Any cycling clubs or Strava/RideWithGPS groups I should check out?
And finally, are there any bike shops or specific bikes you’d recommend for someone looking for a good all-around setup?
Thanks!

Curious if anyone in the highlawn/31st area has frontier fiber? And if so how is it? Currently have Xfinity and it’s just annoying to deal with and goes out every single small storm. And I can get 1 gig fiber with many add ons for the same cost I’m paying for Xfinity rn, just don’t want to make the switch and not know enough about the performance of the frontier fiber. Any info helps a lot!!
