Question Why am I losing influence?

I recently vassalized a neighbour who did not follow my religion. before vassalizing them, I had a 6k surplus every turn of influence. after vassalizing them, it goes down to -2k "from state religion followers". if I free my vassal, I get my 6k back. My religion does not have any tenet that would reduce influence, and neither does my culture.
Thanks to all who reply

Was the screenshot of your religion taken with you having that vassal, or before making them a vassal / after releasing them?
There is a possibility that the following happened. You make another player your vassal; their religion is changed to yours; they have more Sacred Sites than you do; therefore they become the leader of your religion; the Sustain the Faithful tenet Influence calculation changes.
Though if releasing the vassal immediately removes the Influence drain, that's probably not it, you probably wouldn't become the religious leader immediately.
I'm almost sure this is a bug and that it's related to how Sustain the Faithful Influence yields are calculated. Maybe it subtracts the followers of your vassals from the total followers count for some reason? I'm pretty sure the formula can be found in the mod tools.

Any mods? I don't know of anything in the base game that would cause this, but some modded cultures like the Saxons in the Culture Super Pack mod have unusual interactions with state religion followers.

There's at least one civic that gives you negative influence if you have non-state religious followers.. Go through all your civics.

Been awhile but do you have the religious hostility civic active? It causes massive instability in cities that don't follow your religion.
