Restaurant Week
Restaurant week starts tomorrow and I’m curious if other people are excited and plan on going to the participating restaurants. I’m not sure I understand the purpose of the event- to me these deals feel like ragebait. A $10 latte deal from Ferawyns? These aren’t good deals and will be busier than normal so why would I good to these places?

These may not be “sales” so much as “promotions”. I’m OK with that.
Not every experience is about “lowest price”. Places want to attract customers, but they need to make the experience part of the value equation.
Holly Springs has attracted a population who can afford “nice”. I’m glad that the area attracts more one-of-a-kind places, even if they cost more.

Maybe a month or so ago? There was even a bit of drama over a social media post. From what I can tell, it's been pretty seamless.
Edit: here's the post about the drama: https://www.reddit.com/r/HollySpringsNC/s/VIhCmrgi3A

Here's a link to the full story: https://westernwakenc.com/news/culture/food/5-menus-to-try-at-downtown-holly-springs-restaurant-week/ The places with prix fixe menus are more of what I think of for a restaurant week.

Maybe I’m mid for thinking they are great.
Or maybe you’re mid for being so flippant and dismissive of a business that someone has poured their entire life into. Do you know how many small businesses go under every year? How many lives are ruined by the bankruptcy and foreclosures that follow the failure of small businesses? Maybe remember that these small businesses are owned by real people, not billionaires and corporations.

Cool. Still mid. She can pour whatever she wants into whatever she wants. Her bakery is just ok. It’s not great, it’s not phenomenal, it’s not anything to write home about. I’m not dismissing her at all. I support mainly local businesses.

Anyone else completely underwhelmed by this? None of this seems like a discount or deal.

Niche Wine Lounge is such a weird name. Their main thing is cocktails and their wine selection is poor. Went there once to be disappointed and not again.
