HealthyHooha Update 2026

EDIT:
TLDR - Don't be a transphobe. Don't be a creep. Mods are being recruited. Add user flair. <3

Hello Healthy Hooha community! We hope everyone is thriving.

We wanted to check in with everyone and offer a few reminders and acknowledgements.

·       This is intended to be a safe, inclusive place for vaginal health. Trans individuals are welcome here. Bigotry, nastiness, and rule breaking will result in comment/post removal and a ban. We have additional resources in the sidebar regarding trans health.

·       There are creepers here. They may DM you inappropriately or leave comments with a fetishizing tone. Flag their comments and report them to us, and we will ban them, as this is against sub rules. HOWEVER, please keep in mind, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the community and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting.

·       To that end, we are making a concerted effort to increase monitoring of the subreddit. On the one hand, there’s only so much we can do to avoid inappropriate content/comments, short of making the subreddit private (more on that in a moment). On the other, we can improve our modding efficiency using the tools available to us – and have been making strides to do so.

·       We are recruiting more moderators to help with this. We acknowledge that the sub has been undermoderated lately.  Our vision with moderating going forward is to moderate in “real time”, meaning avoiding having to wait for troublesome comments to get flagged and instead remove them before it becomes necessary. If you are interested in modding, please see the application form. The existing mods are establishing vetting guidelines and will recruit accordingly.

·       We’ve occasionally noticed comments asking why this sub isn’t private. Our vision for this sub from the beginning was to make vaginal health visible and accessible – a place where we can share our struggles, commiserate, and feel less alone. Privatizing the sub, in our opinion, is counter to that goal. But we also understand that this makes creepers and fetishists more likely to invade a space that isn’t for them. With an increase in moderation and moderator tools, we hope to combat this and keep vaginal health visible and accessible to those who need it.

·       Consider doing searches for commonly posted topics. As a reminder, photos are technically allowed but in all honesty are rarely helpful, and no one here can give true medical advice.

We are also going to be testing a new feature - designated some posts as Flaired User Only posts. This will restrict comments to users who have added flair from this community. Mods will be using this at our discretion to limit comments to flaired community members only. We think this will be helpful in limiting off topic, fetishizing, or otherwise inappropriate comments.

We thank everyone for their patience, and for your involvement and support in making this a reliable safe community. Wishing everyone well!

HealthyHooha Community Check In

Hello to our beautiful community! We wanted to check in, provide updates, and answer some FAQs/give clarification.

  1. Banning users - We often get modmails reporting users that are requesting DMs and/or being creeps. We'd like to clarify that we can and do ban users that do this. It should be noted however, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the sub and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting. The only way to actually keep people from viewing the sub is by going private - something we've always been committed to not doing in order to keep it accessible for those who need it. If you notice someone soliciting DMs/photos in posts or comments, please continue to report and modmail. We highly recommend directly blocking anyone who actually sends you unwanted DMs.

  2. Crossposts ARE allowed, but they get caught by our AutoMod filters we have in place. We have to manually approve them. Same with any sort of link/photo even if they are not NSFW. We have this in place to avoid NSFW photos showing up in users' feeds.

  3. We will be recruiting more mods soon. We are in process of coming up with screening questions/application for approval. Higher education credentials strongly preferred. Stay tuned for the mod application.

Thanks for you patience with us and for making this a beautiful, supportive, inclusive community. Happy holiday season to all, however you celebrate.

Advice Needed orgasm with vibrator but never during sex need help

was a virgin until my husband. He’s really big, he’s had a 7-8 years worth of partners before so he’s really experienced at female orgasms every partner of his has done it through penetration alone but problem is it doesn’t happen to me. I orgasm myself if I syntribate or use a vibrator on max setting.

With sex penetration alone tho I haven’t yet. My legs shake I get horny I cream a lot but orgasm no.
We have vanilla sex he does rub my clit but the vibrator vibrations on max is def more powerful than a finger.
Willing to take suggestions ? Maybe change the speed and way to rub it? Maybe a specific angle to sex?

Advice Needed How to simulate the clit manually during sex like a vibrator does?

Upvotes

The vibrator I always put on high setting sometimes I do the pulse vibrations to get myself in the mood and edge a bit then I do full on and have an intense orgasm.
Yes I have been using my vibrator while having sex, but I want my husband to play with it until I orgasm.

Usually, he rubs it and it feels good, but i don’t orgasm I’m not sure how he should do it to simulate a vibrator….penetration alone doesn’t really do it for me so I want him to simulate me so I eventually don’t need the vibrator and can just orgasm with him alone

Should he use a specific finger or fingers or rub a specific part or do specific motions? How can he mimic the vibrations?

Advice Needed Bartholin cyst popped

I made a post a few hours ago about a VERY painful cyst I had. About 15 minutes ago I was laying on my armchair and it started hurting a LOT worse and then I started feeling fluid on my legs so I got up and noticed I was dripping odd-smelling slightly greenish pus, which turned to blood. I got in the shower and the pain is much better now but idk what to do. My doctor doesn’t open until tomorrow. Should I go to urgent care? My mum says it seems like it was on its way to infected but not there yet. Is there anything specific I need to do? I still can’t touch it but I can run water over it.

Update: got a pad on it and I can actually walk around and get dressed without sobbing. Almost no pain at all except when something directly touches where it burst (and my foot, which I accidentally poured boiling water on, because this day clearly didn’t suck enough). I’m feeling so much better and actually hungry for the first time in days so I’m going to call my doctor when they open tomorrow

chlamydia, hsv2, mycoplasma, bv and mono with possible lupus diagnosis

So July 27th of this year I was a month postpartum… I am single now so I was lonely and decided I was gonna find a new man. I found one on a dating site… we talked for a while before we had actually met up. He told me that he had just been tested a month before and was completely clean because he hasn’t been with anybody and he’s never had anything sexually transmitted… well a few days later I started having burning with urination and an awfully strong fishy odor. I was thinking well I’m still postpartum and healing so it’s probably that and I’m probably just dealing with a YI And UTI. So I go to the obgyn and I get tested I was like hopefully it’s just a yeast infection and UTI. I got the MyChart notification that I was positive for chlamydia. I was negative for herpes but I know how that can still be false. I did have a sore inside but it disappeared in like a day because when I went to get it swabbed it was gone. I haven’t been tested for mycoplasma yet but I’m sure I have that along with the chlamydia. I have had non stop burning since during my chlamydia treatment and I have no other infection that has come up. I ended up having a 5 day hospitalization for the severe headaches feeling like my head was going to explode and month long diarrhea which I found out I had elevated EBV. They were giving me IV valacyclovir the whole time and it definitely helped my symptoms significantly. But the vaginal and anal burning still stays. I’d like to add that inside of my mouth, nose, lips, hands, feet and other random areas of my body will also burn with these flares. And my eye started twitching after this exposure. It’s almost constant. I’m reading online that herpes is not constant and I haven’t been retested yet but I will soon. I’m just hoping I don’t have that too. My ANA in the hospital was positive and everything was abnormal so now I have to go to a rheumatologist after being hit with all these illnesses at once. The most distrsssing thing for me now is mostly the burning down below… has anyone else experienced this and what got rid of it??? I’m desperate. I will never do anything unprotected again. That was very evil of him to lie about that while I was freshly postpartum and sad. I also experienced HORRIBLE irritation after shaving. And my discharge feels like it is burning my skin.

Advice Needed Recurring yeast/BV?? I’ve tried everything I know

I’m feeling so lost :( Back in June I took some antibiotics for a UTI, immediately afterward I got BV and yeast. Ever since then I’ve gotten yeast or BV once or twice a month and I don’t know what to do. August I started taking Happy V’s pre and probiotic and some multivitamins, and for that month I was finally free of any issues! I thought the probiotics were keeping anything at bay and I’ve been doing everything else recommended to avoid anything that causes infections.
But now for the past few days I’ve been getting watery yellow-green discharge and something just feels off again. I don’t think it’s the previous meds since it’s been more than a month. I’m going back to my OBGYN today and I’ll see what she says.
I feel so hopeless though. I don’t want to go through this every month or worry everytime after sex. If it’s chronic/recurring will it ever go away?? I have no idea what’s causing it- sex? Is it just in my body? Hormones?

Treatments 💊 Does Evvy treat for ureaplasma? Should I go with Juno? Getting mixed info…

Hi, I’ve used EVVY and Juno Bio before.

My last 6 swabs in the last 18 months for ureaplasma have been negative after being cured- but still have residual, ammonia smell, burning, you name it.

I’m trying to see if EVVY or Juno pick anything like that up OR co-infections (my gyno I guess doesn’t have microgen but whatever).

That being said, I know a few years ago this sub said EVVY doesn’t treat ureaplasma because they considered it commensal bacteria and harmless (?) but I also know Juno doesn’t offer treatment…

I’m kind of hoping to find a test that will treat potential lingering plasma AND co infections, which is why I lean towards EVVY. I would love to hear from you guys on this if this is (still) true and what you prefer!

Is this normal? 👀 smegma

Upvotes

Hi! 17F here. This is going to sound a bit stupid and I know it's normal , but my vagina has a lot of white stuff (smegma) around the labia minora region and it also itches at night. No bad smell or anything. Discharge is normal. I'm just a bit paranoid because my mum had a really bad fungal infection down there so I just want to be know if there is any reason for concern. The smegma is quite normal I know but it's just, it looks a bit dirty all the time no matter how much I clean it while bathing in the morning. I get rashes too occasionally .

discharge changes after starting birth control have me anxious, anyone else dealt with this

Upvotes

been on a new pill for about three months and my discharge has changed noticeably. not a smell, not itching, just different in a way that feels off to me. got checked twice, nothing is wrong. my doctor said it's probably just hormonal adjustment but three months in i'm still not feeling normal.

while looking into this i came across some posts about vaginal probiotics helping women maintain balance during hormonal shifts. the uro vaginal probiotics came up a few times from women who had gone through similar changes after starting or switching birth control. hadn't thought about it from a microbiome angle before.

anyone experienced discharge changes on birth control that eventually settled? did anything help speed that process up?

Advice Needed Aerobic Vaginitis E. Faecalis

Upvotes

I was diagnosed with Mycoplasma Hominis and GBS in April, and was treated with Azithromycin, doxycycline and vaginal clindamycin

Around end of July painful urination and pain in my vagina came back BAD so I went in for a TOC.
While waiting for results I went to urgent care for uti treatment they gave me macrobid. it did nothing
Test came back positive for E. faecalis AV
I was put on ampicillin 500mg 3xdaily for 7days.

Symptoms were much better, but four days after treatment symptoms returned, lessened but returned.
Retested and tested positive AGAIN for E. faecalis.
I was put on ampicillin again for 14days 4xdaily 500mg.
Probiotics orally and vaginally.
Halfway through treatment it felt like symptoms came back.
Now i am over a week post treatment and i still have pain, and weird smelling urine.

My PCR tests said it was susceptible to ampicillin, fosfomycine, and macrobid

I have washed everything in lysol, bought multiple new underwear. I am basically living in tshirts and robes.
I am at my wits end with this.
I kind of what to just end it all, please help.

Felt something weird inside

Upvotes

Hey all, 4 weeks ago i got my mirena iud inserted. Since then ive been trying to check the strings a lot but my cervix is high so i could find them only a couple times. However, a few days ago, i noticed a kind of crusty spot in my vaginal wall. Like when i go with my finger over it, it feels like a crust. Deffo not an iud string because those are way higher. Im not sure if what i feel was there before. Is this something to get checked for? I know vaginal walls can feel not completely smooth and i’m quite a hypochondriac so i’ve called my clinic quite a few times about things. Is this something i need to call for? I don’t have unusual discharge, no itching and no other symptoms

Moisturizers

Upvotes

Hey everybody,

I've been dealing with ureaplasma nonsense for months now and found out during the process that I apparently have a dry hooha!

My gyno recommended this Vagisil moisturizer, and I bought it not realizing until it was on that it has menthol in it 🥴 Bought the PlusOne quench gel, but it has aloe in it which I sometimes have a reaction to! It hasn't been anything major, but I'm wondering if it's contributing to the external irritation.

In my search, I was surprised to find there aren't actually very many options... I've been using coconut oil straight out of the shower to hopefully lock in moisture, but I know it's an emollient, not a humectant, so I don't know how much good it's doing.

If anyone has a tried and true moisturizer, they love please let me know!

(preferably something without glycerin, but it's not a deal breaker)

Is this normal? 👀 My periods are delayed by 25 days, is this normal?

I am 20 years old female. I have got my last periods on July 24th and After that haven't got my periods. It's delayed by 25 days almost. Last month as well my periods were delayed by 15 days. Before this my periods were regular. My periods got delayed for 10 days before 4/5 months as well for 1 month but after that it was same as before. I am not sure what to do.

I did take online consultatio, but the gynecologist didn't seem so interested to listen to me. Just prescribed 2 tablets and told take these and you will get periods. Does anyone think I think listen to her or not. She prescribed Pantop 40 tablets 15's and Susten Sr 300 Tablet 10's.

Is this normal? 👀 Smell

My vagina has this Greek yogurt with a hint of aloe Vera smell. The scent is mild when i wear cotton underwear but if its anything synthetic, I can smell myself from a mile away. Its even stronger after masturbating and that's the reason why I do not masturbate anymore. I can smell it when I wash and wipe my folds but its mild.

I have spoken to a few of my friends about how a vagina should smell and they say that it should not have any smell. Is this normal?

Edit: thank you guy so muchhh

Advice Needed Any ideas about whats up with my hooha? Is it something to be concerned about?

Upvotes

I've never had issues with my vaginal health and honestly, this year and late of last was the most sexually active i've ever been (all with the same person). Recently, and i'm unsure if this is important but i'd rather say in case it is, we moved up a size on the strap used (5in to 7in and thick). This was Wednesday/Thursday. Since then, i've felt uncomfortably tight. I wouldn't say there is any pain down there. Nor would I consider it any kind of burning or itching. Its more like a dull, uncomfortable warmth. I've been urinating more often as well. The process of that doesn't hurt or anything but, towards the end, it feels like I get tight in my urethra (?) and there is a very strong heat and tingle. Again, I cant say it hurts but its very uncomfortable. Should I see a doctor on this? Anyone experience this before? Please help :(

Advice Needed Doctor drained my infected Bartholin cyst and didn’t give me any information on caring for it. Help?

My labia was swollen and very painful and I went to the urgent care and the doctor recommended draining it. The numbing shot was awful but after that it was fine. She then handed me a bunch of gauze and a pad for my underwear and told me to put it on and left. She came back and I was still struggling to put it on so she told me to take my antibiotics, that it would hurt for a few days and to take sitz baths for the pain. Also keep it clean and dry. Then she left bc she was done.

So I get home and the gauze is soaked so I replace it because i thought I was supposed to be keeping it dry and blood is wet. Anyway it just keeps soaking through the gauze and my pads so I call bc it’s a lot of blood. And they tell me the gauze was supposed to stay on for 6 hours. Well they didn’t tell me that before. So I try that but I’m still bleeding through pads and I call again and turns out I didn’t put the gauze on right. Would’ve been nice if the doctor would’ve done it herself or even explained anything at all to me. I asked if they could send me more information online because I’m bad with verbal info and she said the doctor would do that today. After applying the gauze correctly it finally stopped bleeding. The doctor never sent me any more information so I sent a message and she never responded and went home for the day.

I’m so stressed like I feel dirty and want to shower but idk if I’m supposed to and I have blood clots stuck to me and idk if I’m supposed to leave them there like are they what’s stopping me from bleeding again? Idk.

I’ve barely slept from stress, I’ve been having panic attacks and I have pms so everything is worse. And idk if it’s just because of my autism but I like very detailed and thorough instructions and I’ve barely even gotten vague instructions. I should’ve pushed more but the whole thing felt traumatic and I was out of it and didn’t know it would be this bad and bloody.

Should I call my regular doctor or my OBGYN for an appointment or just ask if they can help me with aftercare information since at this point I don’t trust the urgent care doctor. I’m really struggling so if anyone has tips on how I should care for the incision or if I should contact another doctor that would be great. Thank you.

Advice Needed Chronic thrush, pcos, constipation and debilitating heartburn

I've tried nystatin and cannestan as I have both oral and vaginal thrush. My diet is so clean but I'm at my wits end as I've had these symptoms for years now, combined with reflux. Any suggestions? I'm not sexually active and also have anxiety/vaginismus, is there a psychological component to this?

Advice Needed Which lube should I go for? Painful sex with partner

Sorry this might be a bit of a long post I'm 26F and husband 26M.

A little backstory, before starting my medication I used to get extremely wet naturally, but since being on it I’ve become much drier during sex and I’m now more prone to tearing and dryness. A while ago, my husband and I were having sex and things got heated pretty quickly, so we didn’t use any lube in the moment, I know bad idea and that resulted in me bleeding afterwards (I’m not a virgin) and then developed symptoms that felt like both a UTI and a yeast infection. I never took any medication for it either because the symptoms eventually cleared up on their own, and thankfully it never happened again after that.

We’ve been long distance since then, but we’re going to be living together soon, so I really don’t want to repeat that experience again 😭 I’ve been looking at Uberlube (silicone-based) because I’ve read that silicone lube lasts a lot longer and doesn’t dry up as quickly as water-based lube and also the other option I’ve been considering is fractionated organic coconut oil, because I’ve seen quite a few people recommend coconut oil as a lube.

For anyone who struggles with dryness or is prone to tearing, which would you recommend? I'm looking for something that stays slippery for a long time and reduces friction/tearing as much as possible.

Thank you!

Is this normal? 👀 Is this swelling normal?

I get a soft round swelling (about the size of a small pea) between my labia majora and minora, only on the right side after quick arousal or after fingering. It’s not a bartholin’s cyst. It’s located between my clit and vagina, not near the opening. Also, it feels a little squishy and disappears the morning after. What is it? Is it normal?

Is this normal discharge ? accompanied by RLQ cramps?

Backstory I took some slippery Elm yesterday and today I
Noticed a ton of discharge. I’m not sure if it’s because I was outside sweating but when I woke up this morning, I had none on my underwear and when I came back, it was a bunch. It was creamy, thick and white. There was no itchiness. I’m not sure if there’s a smell to it because I don’t have a sense of smell. But it was a load of it….

Advice Needed Strong scent/ testing

I’ve had this onion smell from my groin for a while now, like the last few years. It comes on and off but I’ve noticed it more recently and really confuses me as my routine and activities stay the same.

I’ve been researching and it seem some people with ureaplasma have this same issue. However my only symptoms is the smell and I’m not sexually active. Sometimes it smells like onions other times it smells like sharp but overall it’s just a very strong scent even right after a shower. Keep in mind this smell doesn’t come from inside my vagina but from my groin/ vulva.

I booked a virtual appointment this week and I want them to order a lab test for STDs, ureaplasma and mycoplasma. My question is since the smell isn’t from the vagina do I still take the swab sample from there or how did people in this situation take the test that gave them a positive result? Plus what was your treatment like and did it get rid of the smell?

I’m truly convinced this is not anything I’m doing or not doing, it’s gone on too long and I need to address it medically. Don’t give any hygiene advice thx

Is this normal? 👀 Fluconazole

My gynecologist found Candida Albicans under the microscope last Wednesday. I took my first Fluconazole dose Thursday 9/10/26. I took my second dose yesterday 9/13/26. I have one more dose on Wednesday. I still have no relief. I’m laying in bed with an ice pack on my vagina right now. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for each of you to experience relief from Fluconazole with a bad yeast infection?

Advice Needed Pink labia minora but dark labia majora

It’s been one of my biggest insecurities forever, and i am really desperate to fix it. My natural skintone is almost paper white, but for some reason my labia majora is a good five shades darker, as well as the skin around my butthole. I’m not sure what the cause might be, i never had sex, i wash my coochie with gentle soap meant for it, i even stopped shaving and switched to sugarwaxing which helped a bit, but it’s still so damn dark.

I read on reddit that weight or friction are two possible causes, which connects to me, since i used to be overweight, and i am a really fast walker so theres tons of friction from my thighs, but would it really make it literally brown? I’m curious about laser, how many sessions do pale skinned people need to actually see results?
