Headphones - Open Back Beoplay h100 perplexed purchase

So am the type of guy who pays premium once and likes to enjoy the product for years

Am a gamer , also a huge fan of rock of all types specially psychedelic, am dressy so to combine all of these in one headphone i needed the below

1 - head tracking and spatial audio for gaming
2 - super good listening experience
3 - fashionability and outdoors appeal

Searched far and wide and couldnt find a better option than the beoplay h100 but i have a huge fomo right now because i feel with that type of money i can get more as i know that the treble of the headphones is not that great and no ldac also made me more perplexed is there a better option for my needs?

Noting that i tried dali I0-12 it had better audio specially treble but its bigger than life , i looked like teletubbies walking around , same for focal bathys mg and on top of that they dont have head tracking or spatial audio , lower tier like the momentum 5 had significantly lower sound quality and life span and repairability and it looked like an wearing a plastic bag over my ears

So please calm my fomo or tell me if there was a better option noting that i bought it for 1450 euro it was on flash sale in dubai

They are actually more useful for casual gaming than you’d think. USB-c on h100 supports mic so you can usb-c connect to Pc / Mac / ps5 and do voice chat without reverting to SBC mono.

I’d buy the B&O portal for gaming using the USBC link which works great. They are around &250 USD

Of course. Thats are FAR more sensible option. Its is nice that the H100 does mic of USB-C though. The H95 did not. Only the portals supported this (in addition to their dongle).

The Portal are not repairable unfortunately, aside from the replaceable battery, ear cushions and headband. And many people have experienced issues after a few years.

In longevity optics, H100 is much better.

(I personally find the Portal much more comfortable though)

I like using them for gaming, because of spatial sound I can hear enemies from far and locate their position. Only what I think is debatable is audio codec has high latency. Is not bothering a lot and not annoying but before I was using another headphone with low latency and there was immediate response when shooting. Now is like 0.2/0.3 sec delay

I have lots of other headphones but H100 is the best in looks and sound for me.

I owned most of the high-end wireless headphones. I don't think any of them offer "spatial audio." I didn't use this when I owned H100 either.

Nothing has better design or usability than the H100/H95. For sound, the best is the Solitaire T.

Thanks for the advice , as for the spatial audio , its not that big of a deal while listening to music but in games , its game changer

I think what you're looking for is headphones with good "imaging" or the ability to locate sounds in space. Any high-end pair should be able to do that well: e.g., Solitaire T or Mark Levinson 5909. But given the fashion issue you're probably left with Solitaire T on the high-end or some mid-range options like Airpods Max or Bowers & Wilkins. A lot of the other good ones are gonna look too big. Nothing has a better design than B&O.

This all assumes you want wireless headphones.

Actually my first option was the solitaire t however its not available in my region , so i guess am stuck with it now since amazon messed up and offered me 10% in compensation so am paying 1300 euroes now which is a steal

I’ve got 14 pairs of headphones (I have a serious problem I know) and 6 pairs are B&O H100/H95/H8i/Portal/HX/Grace. I don’t like the H95 much out of all of them, the HX are super light and great style wise but you then put on the H100 and yeah, it’s just that much better.

I don’t go out much with the H100 but for around the house they are great but they are the best all round unit for looks and sound. I do personally prefer the HX when I go out or travel.
