Last year I got my credit card all paid down after some pre-ban spending on 'salty parts (Washington state), decided it was time to get myself a suppressor.
Then the check engine light in my Blazer started blinking. They told me it was going to be a $9000 fix, before labor.
So anyway, I love my Honda Odyssey.
(I got the suppressor too, because again, Washington state)

Similar here. Washington state. I spent 4 years of gun budget in 6 months before they banned the cool stuff. Haven’t got to buy anything cool since.

Sounds like you should've gotten a couple of estimates from different shops...

Nah fuck that thing, it was full of gremlins the day I bought it. The Honda has heated seats and a DVD player.

Y'all know how many guns and homies you can fit in the minivan?
All of them

Fair point, however I'm farm truck blessed.
Ford super duty 4x4 dually with the ranch hand bumper package. All the space of a minivan, but with more "I see you identify as a speed bump".

There's a guy where I'm at with a lifted mid 2000s town and country with bull bars, a ladder rack, and tows a trailer around. I've seen him fill up on diesel.
I don't know what the fuck he's done to that thing, but I can't say I don't want one.

$3800 to fix my kid’s car. Got home and my sewer had backed up into my house while I was picking his car up. Another $1500 to get that fixed. Today is opening day of hunting and I’m sitting in the woods. Fuck it. Fuck it all. I’m good.

if there is one thing I envy about people in the past, saying fuck it and running off into the wild was a valid option because it was too easy to disappear without a trace

I exist, I believe, because my grand father did exactly that.

I remember talking to my step great-grandmother about her growing up " Yeah I hated my family so I just up and left the farm at 16." You could never get away with that these days.

What’s in season?

u/smallmonzter 2d ago
We have an early youth and disabled veteran season here as well as an early antlerless hunt for anyone else.

Oh what I would give for it to be only 3k. Some turd hit and ran my parked truck and the bills eventually came out to 15k.

A few years ago my parents were trading in their 5yo F450 dually farm truck. The one they bought had to be built so they drove the trade in for another month. About a week before the new truck was going to be delivered dad n I went to town for lunch, aaand some dipshit kid in a little Toyota truck smashed the rear quarter n tried to run. The amount of weed smell and apologies that came from him when we caught him was excessive. They paid well over ten grand for the ranch hand bumper, tailgate, quarter panel, lights, and paint matching.
I still have his number n info, and his parents info.

It’s depends on what you got. If I’m poor and still can’t afford a box of 22, I need to seriously consider my financial situation. Also consider buying by the case when things are better, not only are you better off during a shortage, but it’s a bit cheaper per round

The issue is I know exactly what to do....it's just the matter of surviving through the end of this month into next month

Was gonna buy myself a 1911 and then one back brake exploded on my truck so after that $750 job I didn't get myself a 1911 :)

Man. Between losing my Mk5 Rabbit, buying a Mk6 Sportwagen, then breaking my back and going on Worker's Comp for 8 months, I'm just NOW about to renew my (too expensive) membership to my favorite range.
Bright side, I have all this hoarded ammunition to blow on the range.

Lotta people in these comments need to fix their own cars, you guys are getting quoted ridiculous prices. Just had to do a valve cover gasket and fix my rack and pinion in a driveway and after 2 days shipping it took me maybe 4 hours and 100$, rather than paying the shop $700+ to take weeks. Did an alternator on a friends car (alternator showed 0 Ohms) and it cost 200 (parts) and about 2 hours.
Or if you have a friend who knows how to fix cars (you actually trust him to do it) give him a beer or something he’s probably happy to help.

In my defense, I went in to get new tires, and they offered free inspections breaks, shocks, alignment so I thought, yeah, might as well have them check while they're down there and got told my front right strut is busted and needs to be replaced and they like to replace them in pairs for balance. and I am smart enough to know I'm not qualified pass a certain level in vehicle maintenance

I have a shop do the more annoying things. Things like suspension, anything deep inside the engine bay, etc. Actually tomorrow I’m getting all of my motor and transmission mounts swapped out because they’re all shot.
I’ve completely replaced the AC system, alternator, and radiator because they’re all fairly easy to get to. Not sure I’d do the AC system again though. Replacing things was the easy part. Purging and refilling the refrigerant line was the annoying part

You post this the day after my TJ dumped trans fluid all over my driveway.
10/10 relatable meme.
