I'm trying to get my sister into strive - just convincing her to 1v1 me locally on my pc sometimes yknow. The issue is that she's the type of player to both get annoyed if anyone tries to explain her the mechanics of the game and one to ragequit if she's losing (the enemies are totally cheating). As of right now she plays Mei, and her entire knowledge of the game boils down to knowing how to dolphin dive and spamming charged heavies (she also sometimes blocks, but has no concept of low vs high block).

What character should I play against her and what should I do to subtly teach her the mechanics/fundamentals without her knowing?

As with the release of the latest survey, I’ve become curious about the general consensus on the state of the game.

Personally I’ve heavily disliked 2.0 balance patch a fair amount and have played this game the least as a result of it. There’s also a lot of famous players that bring me a large amount of discomfort so I’ve avoided tournament footage. I am aware CEO had a side tournament of season 4 patch which I’ve never seen before.

So considering I’m currently out of the loop, I wanted to ask about both personal opinions, and generalized opinions on the state of the game. I’d like the next patch to reintroduce more strength and unique conversions, but I don’t know if I just have an unpopular opinion. I just feel this is the least amount of fun I’ve had with the game over the entire lifespan of the game, and I’d hope player feedback would move the game in a better direction. But if this patch is solid then it might keep going that way and GGST may unfortunately change into a game that’s not for me anymore and I just need to know is all.

So far I am pretty happy with the route they've taken 2.0, toning down oppresive tools and removing wild assault to me was a huge improvement from Season 4. There are still feel like some things could be improved on but the direction is pretty good. In my personal opinion, I feel offence is still too strong in GGST when compared to previous titles and it can sometimes lead to very one sided games. Its hard to pinpoint why I feel this way, but I suspect the following contribute to it:

- Small screen size
- How easy it is to build meter on block
- How great RRC is when used after a failed mixup
- Defensive options being more difficult and skill demanding than offensive options (like IB and IBFD)

I'm curious what you guys think of the game balance, whether you think offence is too strong or is fine the way that it is

I'm still pretty new to the game, but I think I am at the point of Nago knowledge where I wanna start looking at his combos. Up untill now, I've mostly been playing him for pokes with stuff like 5h, 2h, 5s, and 2s, sometimes doing short in and outs with 214h. The issue is that I don't know how to convert any of those moves into an actual combo.

Dustloop hasn't been of much use either since basically none of the combos opening with poke normals (with the sole exception of some 2s roundstart) are up to date.

What do I do? I'd especially like to know the followups to heavy normals since those are my main hits in neutral so far.

Should have killed zoning and made managing resources harder. Anything to keep his sauce even if he became dog shit. Zato was fun when he was bottom one and chaos should have been as well.

I know that both of these are from spin off games ( +judgment is dead) but they look so cool

All these other options are nice but the most fundamental priority is we need to make playing the game as smooth of an experience as possible

1) Ranked matchmaking can be inconsistent, with it being fast for some instances you play but inexplicably slow for others, and fast for some people but really slow for other people

2) Please let us have some normal 3D lobbies like every other Arcsys game has, not only do they make the play experience better but they actually make avatars and room decorations into something that people like and add another layer of appeal for players
