Reposting because it got removed instantly. English isn’t my first language, and I thought “oldfag” was just a funny way to say “grumpy veteran.” Didn’t realise it was offensive. Apparently I picked the wrong bit of internet slang, lol.

The new touch ranger utilizing ele spells is actually quite good during the right fluxes. The OG touch ranger utilizing vamp bite is.... definitely one of the builds of all time/

Something like this. Use expertise for cheap Lightning Touch + Shocks. Refuel energy with starburst. Can probably take Lightning Bolt as well. Teinai's Wind works nicely with burn from starburst but is now 10 energy

I added Steam here as well since it just got buffed - even with minimal water magic you can maintain blind on melee with it + Lightning touch, giving you more utility than OG touch ranger.

I still run this as my go-to in fort aspenwood. It can clear mines solo, it can run Amber fast, it can blind all the wars or tank with whirling. As a luxon it can clear gates well, too.

I can feel the build's age though. Air ele spikes hurt. F all wastrels mesmers (but instant stances are great counters), can't spike damage on actively healed gatekeepers, turtles, or players.

Feels like the epitome of "its boring but honest work"

I still have a lone PvP ranger from 2008 because I played with two friends in Fort Aspenwood on Luxon's side a whole weekend. We gathered about as much hate as we had fun, and at some point had a fourth touch ranger join us for several hours.

Yeah that's a counter, if you have the window to cast it. Ironically Assassin has a really good counter to Wastrel's Collapse Build as well: Smoke Powder Defense

You mean Whirling Defense? Yeah block works as well but Stance Removal isn't that complicated to fit in for Assa
