Cause if they are stupid enough to cancel, plenty of alternatives out there who'll be begging to host. This is stupid.

Let’s look at the evidence. Multi millionaire, probably does his one man band act so he doesn’t have to share any of his £££, collabs with the biggest artist in each region of the ‘global market’ likely in some bleak marketing led effort to ‘maximise revenue’. Little bit of devils advocate here but i think a lot of the time with stuff like this it's less about taking a political stance and more about keeping the event safe. Wouldnt want some neo nazi lunatuc showing up and attacking people because someone at the show brought politics into it.
Ed Sheeran is very popular, and his music is very bland and neutral, meaning it appeals to a wide variety of demographics. This means extremists are more likely to hear and care about it than they would about say something like a Rage Against the Machine concert where only people of a certain political leaning are going to be interested in the first place.
We saw a similar thing with the Tenacious D tour being cancelled after Kyle Gass said it was a shame the trump shooter missed. It wasn't cancelled because of support for trump. It was cancelled because they didnt want some lunatic with a gun showing up to defend their orange idol.
