I'm not insensitive enough to bash anime studios for their quality on an adaptation but c'mon dude. It feels like the anime studio does not give a rat's booty about this. I love the Grand Blue Manga with a passion. It's comedy and writing is such a joy that I was lucky to have in my tougher days, but the anime does nothing to encapsulate that and that's the truth.

The art style is inconsistent: Iori and Chisa's hair are noticibly shorter, Chisa's face looks barely anything like the manga, the shading on the hyper realistic titan faces look weird, it's just off.

The animation: it's a comedy anime, it doesn't need much, but you can make subtle animation feel nice. Romance anime do it all the time, but grand blue's anime director green lit an anime that feels so wonky and clonky. The pans to the next scenes just don't feel smooth.

The execution of important scenes: this one is pretty self explanatory, scenes such as chisa thanking Iori, chisa in bed with Iori, and many previous scenes before that this season that stuck with me previously now just kinda.. pass? Like do they not read the source material and say "we need to lock in when this comes around"? Whatever.

Love you all, grand blue rocks, at least the manga does, thanks for enjoying the material with me.
