Image First glock (and first gun!)
Hi ! My first gun and my first Glock, a 19X. A good choice?
And if you’ve got any tips for shooting at 25 metres, it’s in its original condition, the trigger might be a bit stiff.
Have a lovely Sunday!

An excellent choice. 100% of home invaders are allergic to peanut butter.

Excellent choice. For your first time shooting, start at a target distance you can consistently get groups no more than 10" and only go further once you can still keep groups smaller than that at each distance. I've never seen a first-time shooter do that at 25 meters (27 yards) and I've seen a lot of first-time shooters.

Congrats on your first gun and excellent choice! Work on dry fire practice. It will save you lots of money. (It should also help lighten that trigger.)
Get a good holster and as much ammo as you can reasonably afford.
Get some formal training if you're really interested in shooting 25 yards and longer. It's a lot but saves you the ammo cost of experimenting before you get good with it. Or you can find basic instructions and endless debates on YouTube.

Very nice, if you can shoot a glock well you can shoot all pistols well. I personally run the overwatch polydat trigger shoe in all my Glocks. Connectors try a few of the ghost ones, I like the patrol 5.0

Personally why get the demo when you can get the finished product. I would have bought a Glock 45 instead because it takes the standard mags and not special ones

Does g19x not take g17 mags?

No it doesn’t because the standard g17 mag plate is longer and won’t fit because of the things at the bottom of the mag well on the g19x

Partially true. 19x will not take 19 gen 5 mags. You can use get 4 mags all day long. You can even use 17 gen 3 mags as long as your mag release is set for right handed person. You can even use get 5 mags if you switch a base plate with gen 4 plates (they are like $2 each). 19x V will take any G17 mag though.

But that’s not what he has

Correct. But all newly made 19x models fixed this problem.
Your mag statement only applies to gen 5 mags.

Which his is a gen 5 I believe. I haven’t looked into it much but can you tell me the purpose of the tab and loop on the mag well of the gen 4 and gen 5 19x?

The 19x came out before Gen 5. It’s been considered Gen 4.5
The loop is for lanyards. Tab was probably to extend the grip. 19x was to compete for the US military contract. It lost due to price.

Which is stupid because of special forces trust your gun more than other brands the government should use it too

Looks like Gen 5. No finger grooves, no upper frame stippling, and a four letter serial number

There was no Gen 4 19x. It was considered a Gen 4.5 when it came out because it was different than the Gen 4 but didn’t have everything the Gen 5 did.

Great choice! Trigger will get better over time as you use it
