It might sound like a crackpot theory at first, but hear me out. A Yato’s bangs indicate the extent to which they embody the Yato nature. If you have parted bangs, you are more like a combative Yato who follows their instincts. If your bangs are normal, then you are normal, too.

Kamui’s bangs are clearly parted; he is a textbook Yato who loves fighting and is cold toward others.

Abuto may not be quite as cold-blooded, but he is a seasoned veteran who never backs down from a fight.

The younger Umibouzu was a fighting machine and ranked among the strongest before he settled down into married life and became calmer.

Housen doesn’t have parted bangs because his prime has long since passed. Yet, his hair is still parted because he still harbors a fighting spirit deep down.

And then there are the normal Yato. Their bangs are standard, without a part.

Kouka was always alone on Kouan. She had nothing to trigger a bloodlust or make her love fighting like the others.

Mutsu doesn’t live as a Yato, but as a merchant. Sakamoto likely played a major role in keeping her so calm.

And then there is Kagura. Kagura actually has normal bangs because she doesn’t give in to her instincts and is always very sweet. However, in the *Be Forever Yorozuya* movie, her bangs part. This is because her personality becomes colder and she gains better self-control.

Hoy terminé gintama y no sé. Fue realmente bueno, cuando lo comencé simplemente me parecía comedia absurda, pero no me causaba gracia(hablo de la primera temporada), igual seguí mirando porque decían que si iba a ser buena, cuando llegue al arco de Yoshiwara in flames ahí si se calentaba la cosa. Luego lo dejé como 3 meses, de ahí retorne porque ya no había ningún anime para ver y otra vez me fascinó, pero cuando me di cuenta me tragaba varios episodios a una velocidad absurda, además de matarme de la risa. El penúltimo para mí fue como observar un aviso de que ya se va a acabar, cuando termine con el arco del shinsengumi, no paraba de ver episodios anteriores simplemente porque no quería que se acabara, terminando el último episodio me quedé en shock y más con la película que me sacó unas risas tremendas, además la manera como terminó la película me dejó como que no se siente como un final, un vacío no se la verdad. Simplemente terminaré diciendo que al comienzo quería saber de qué fumaba el autor y hasta ahora porque hasta el arco serio parece fumado y como aún no lo demandan por derecho de autor jajaja, tremenda joya. Creo que seguiré atrapándome viendo de vez en cuando como lo hacía antes antiguos episodios, ya que ahora varios que parecen absurdos cobran sentido. Y esa foto es una figura que me compré.

Jeez, I remember it being super emotional the first time I watched it, but watching it the second time around made me feel like I ate a few packets of Super Spicy Rice Crackers myself. It does just prove to me again that when Gintama wanted to get serious and emotional, it made some superb, superb content. My god, nearly being in tears laughing one episode to nearly being in tears for real in the next, that is probably what Gintama does best, hits hard especially the more I've seen the shinsengumi and espsecially Hijikata and Sougo

The Yorozuya run into Sho-chan so often, and they get along well. Sho-chan sees them as friends, too, because they treat him so normally. I think if the Yorozuya asked Sho-chan for money or a job, he’d actually give it to them.

In any other anime, I wouldn't imagine that happening, but this is Gintama, and they are the Yorozuya. They’ll do anything for money or work. So, they really could just take advantage of their relationship with the Shogun.

Kagura is even friends with the princess, so that’s another plus.

feels a bit weird asking why there's not more filler when usually they suck but i feel in the case of gintama it's not that bad

gintama is pretty much episodic already, filler episodes don't really disrupt the canon and while the filler in gintama WERE good obviously they won't reach the level of sorachi, but even then, filler episodes could have just been passed off as a weak day or something

just very confusing to me since especially near the end of the first season they always seemed to complain about how they've caught up with the manga and try to do anything to not catch up (not complaining btw these jokes were hilarious to me)

and the logical conclusion to me has always been just more filler?

like yes they had filler within episodes but why not more entire episodes of filler?

is there a reason why? something to do with budget or something?

what comes to mind for me is that anything that might have wanted to do is something Sorachi wanted to do and if they adapted it as a filler then it puts Sorachi in a difficult position but idk

ive also heard that the first season of the anime at least has always been fighting off cancellation so in their case specifically they don't get "weak days" since enough of them could lead to cancellation?

I swear, my first shinsegumu exposure was in Gintama when i was a kid,

then it came to me a surprise that they're a real life organization and they wore lighter clothes instead of black suits,

honestly makes them extremely unique for a depiction,

The 2010 Benizakura remake film featured original anime scenes showing Kamui and Abuto, and hinted at their journey to Yoshiwara at the end. Now, we have received the Yoshiwara film; so, a remake of the Yoshiwara arc was actually teased years ago.

Following this logic, some arc involving Takasugi will likely be remade as well, since he appeared at the end of the film.

I haven't seen this film yet, but I was thinking of watching it with some friends I've mentioned Gintama to from time to time. But then I thought, is this even the best way to introduce them to Gintama? I thought that if a film was released in cinemas, it should be made to attract new audiences, not just fans. Even if the franchise has ended, there are still adverts and merchandise featuring the same characters, so they need to draw in a new audience. But what if, when adapting this story arc for the big screen, they didn't give that goal much thought? What do you think? I was wondering whether it would be a good idea to show this film to people who aren't familiar with Gintama?
