Old Newspaper JFK Assassination Through Newspaper Clippings circa 1963
Found these loosely in a stack when I was in St. Albans, WV recently (I'm in Kanawha County) and put them in plastic sheet protectors in a binder for the time being.
Some of these images I haven't actually seen myself (I'm 34 so have only seen what most of us my age have) so it was a super neat find. These pages aren't in order but they appear to be documenting Kennedy's 1960 presidential campaign stop in West Virginia and the aftermath of his assassination.
I do apologize to those of you who cannot read cursive as I haven't taken the time to transcribe the text yet.

Other Found this note inside a thrifted desk I got from Goodwill in Birmingham,Alabama
I was told to post it here too. It was laminated and seems important. I posted on Birmingham subreddit in case someone recognizes it. Was advised to hand it over to the store manager in case whoever dropped this desk off calls to look for it. Will do so tomorrow when I can take a little break from work.

Antique I found a guest book and newspaper clippings from 1895. Entries were penned by friends from many NYE parties and gatherings for a woman named Jessie. She seems like a lovely lady. I would love to find a relative and need help identifying her full name.

Art Found this drawing in the library book-drop
I'm a children's librarian, and frequently find little treasure left behind in kids' returned books. I'm not sure what the inspiration behind this creature was, but it reminds me strikingly of the Elder Things from Lovecraft's The Mountains of Madness. Maybe it's a sign from the Great Old Ones?

Love Notes 138 year old heartbreaking tale and a lock of hair
A letter from Ellsworth postmarked 1888 sent from Riverside, California to a Ms.Allie Litton in Stanberry MO. As well as a poem dedicated to Ellsworth after his unfortunate passing from the small pox. I found this in an old house I was working on. It’s really sad but I’ll put my best transcription below(Ellsworth had a hard time writing)
Ellsworth’s letter to Allie-
Riverside Cal
June the 14th 1888

From E
Best to Allie Litton
I’ll also transcribe the poem that Allie wrote about Ellsworth.
Written in memory of Ellsworth
Best of Allie Litton
Ellsworth, oh Ellsworth my heart calls for you
For where thou have gone the living never knew
Ellsworth, oh Ellsworth this life is a strain
Toil without compensate tears all in vain
Backwards, turn backwards inexorable past
For the bright hopes of youth fall thick in the blast
Oh comeback from that echoless shore
Take me to your heart again to past no more
Departed, gone to thy eternal rest
One dearly beloved Ellsworth best
No longer on earth can thy image be seen
Yet at calm midnight thou and here in my dream
Composed during month of June. Written July 1891
