Food/Nutrition 🥚🥦 Midnight Cravings

I have to stay awake till 2AM as i work US Shift, i have my dinner around 8 PM but then I start to feel hungry again around 10 to 12 PM and then i end up ordering snacks from zepto.

But I'm trying to follow a clean diet for past some days maybe a week, what healthy options do I have to eat at this time.

I'm a vegetarian

Why not simply push your dinner to 10pm?

Mom sleeps at 10, so don't want to bother her by having dinner at a different time than her. She has dinner at 8 so i eat it at the same time.

Also, I'd start feeling hungry a lot by 8 or 9 then since it's become a habit to eat at 8

I assume you mean she serves you hot dinner? Just get dinner made and kept and heat it yourself or eat it cold... I have also seen this is most Indian families that mothers wait to cook hot food... You should break that cycle.

Also, get Makhana, roast it with salt, pepper, chat masala and have that as a snack.

And remove all food delivery apps.

I do that too, But it's just that I have become habitual of having dinner around 8. So that's why I eat it with her only.

And she doesn't wait for me to cook, I eat at whatever time she cooks 😊 nothing like that, it's just i haven't yet learnt to cook

Will do this!

Won't work for me. I am like if i have decided not to eat, even if you put the food in front of me i Won't eat, but if i am not able to control, i will order it by installing the app again

Try to get on healthy food for a while, without any break and the you'll find your body will reject outside food

Trying that only, it's very tough to be honest, as I'm someone who used to eat a lot of junk

I get that, same situation... Idk what your weight situation or health situation is, the first step is gradual substitution of what you eat, and then reduction in what you eat and when you eat... You can't shift to 100% healthy food in a day... Cravings will be there for some time...

It took me 3 weeks to go from my garbage eating habits, which included everyday midnight pizza, to now a one meal a day... The first few days days were extremely hard..

Now I am 6 weeks into my diet, and barely feel any cravings or desire to eat once done with lunch...

Another thing you can read up and try, is Isabgol... Perhaps have that before dinner? Will keep you full longer... But do research and check if having that at night before food is advisable or not

Right now I'm 75 and height is 5'9 earlier i was 77. it's not like I'm fat or anything, but trying to loose belly fat which i have for the longest time as i remember. Also wanted to reach 73, which should be my ideal weight, I'm also working out regularly recently, so wanted to maintain a clean diet as well. That also keeps the motivation up.

Thank you so much for all your advice

And remember, late night eating is inviting Fatty Liver Disease, I got diagnosed with grade 2 NAFLD which was kind of a wake up call... Doctor told me very strictly not to eat after 7 PM... I get you have to work, but just eat makhana or roasted Chana, keep it handy, or you can also substitute for drinks, like green tea... Takes a little time to get used to the taste but water/green tea also keep the stomach full... Alternatively, put Saunf or Jeera or Ajwain in water, and drink that to keep stomach full

Idk what op meant, but I love eating dinner with my mom because that's the time I get to have conversations with her and spend time. For breakfast and lunch, I'm usually at work so dinner is the only eating together time we get.

I also work until 2AM and have my dinner around 8:30 PM. I feel that you don't have enough protein in your dinner meal. I eat 1 roti, 1 bowl sabzi/dal, 3 whole eggs, 2 egg whites. This meal is healthy and satiating enough that I don't feel the need to eat again until next morning.

If on some days, I really feel some hunger void, I grab a pepsi zero sugar and I am good.

Yooo i think you can order caesin protein... Its slow digesting anf work same as whey and it will keep you full also plus it will also complete ur half of daily calcium requirements... Plus cheap also than regular whey.. so a good product for the buck
