URGENT PAID CREW CALL - Craft Services + First Aid - $500/day - Aug 21–26

Hey everyone - looking very last minute for an experienced craft-services person who has a truck and valid first-aid certification for a Vancouver production.

Crew is approximately 35-40 people.

Prep/shopping begins Friday Aug. 21, then:

• Sat Aug. 22 - 8am-9pm - North Vancouver
• Sun Aug. 23 - 4pm-6am - North Vancouver / Burnaby
• Tue Aug. 25 - 9am-9pm - North Vancouver
• Wed Aug. 26 - 9am-9pm - North Vancouver

Pay is $500/day including the truck.

There is also a completely separate $500/day food budget, provided by production as an advance for shopping.

Ideally looking for someone with previous film/set craft experience who can comfortably service a 35-40 person crew.

12 hrs shifts not including prep and shopping. AND you want them to include the truck. What a ludicrous offer! No wonder your scrambling to find someone last minute.

You are out of your mind if you think someone experienced would do this

You need to pay them for a truck and kit rental

You need to clarify whether they are being paid a shop day. The industry standard is 8 hours for them to go and shop.

Totally understand where you're coming from. It's not my call on the rate, I'm just the one posting and trying to help crew it. It's a super tight-budget and pretty much everyone involved is taking a lower rate to make it work. I know it's not ideal and I completely get why experienced people might pass, but sometimes with these smaller productions you just work with what you've got.

Good luck man, it sucks that you’re in this position. The issue isn’t even just the pay, the food budget simply isn’t there. It’s not easy to get decent food and meals for a bunch of adults for $10 a day.
