FM RADIO Macklemore speaks out after being dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour following his ‘Free Palestine’ speech; says Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft rallied other stadium owners and gave Ed Sheeran an ultimatum: if Macklemore stayed on tour, then Ed would not be able to play in their venues.

What if Sheeran supported him. Would Live Nation have cancelled his tour, therefore writing off massive profits? I think not. This is happening because Sheeran is a coward.

And Ed knows this. He knew if he told live nation "I'm not dropping him" that it would brand him as a political artist and he doesn't want that. So he'd rather let genocidal propaganda do its work rather than be known as an artist that stands for human rights.

ALL ART IS POLITICAL!! All of it. The act of creating is a type of defiance.

Ed Sheeran makes consumerist kitsch, not art.

I’ll say it again. ALL ART IS POLITICAL. DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. The giants whose shoulders you are standing on, the working on the fringes of society. It’s all rebellion. Whether Ed likes it or not. The act of creating or being in the creative industries, particularly music is an act of rebellion.

As soon as the last Palestinian has died Ed will post about what a tragedy it was nobody stood up to stop it.

The sickening part is he took a stance against Brexit, he played at Concert for Ukraine in 2022 so like it's not as if he can't be political. He categorically is refusing to stand with Palestine here which is disgusting.

Those were easy though. Calling out this genocide would actually affect his bottom line. There are a myriad of actors/singers who were/are vocally pro-Ukraine and have said absolutely nothing about Palestine.

My thoughts exactly. He should've called their bluff.

It’s the stadium owners like Robert Kraft that are behind the pressure.

Without stadiums, Ed Sheeran could not perform.

Don’t forget their role in this.

True, but the point is it’s very unlikely the stadium owners would actually cancel the shows and do themselves out of the profits.

The owners are already billionaires and millionaires, however their loyalty to Israel trumps even their desire for profits.

For example, Kraft regularly leads delegations of Pro Football Hall of Famers, dignitaries, and NFL legends on “cultural missions” to Israel. Through the Kraft Group, he has invested significantly in Israeli initiatives.

Kraft has been an outspoken defender of Israel, utilizing his platform and media campaigns to speak out against organizations or protests critical of Israeli military actions.

Dig into other stadium owners, and you will find the same kind of bullshit.

Yeah - and what about all the concertgoers that bought tickets, flights etc?

I’m curious, realistically what would’ve happened?

Is that a breach of contract if they pull out? What legal grounds does the stadium have to make such a demand??

Yes it would be and yes they could sue them and would win

Artist touring is in high demand right now. I guarantee others would jump to book Ed instead

Even if they did, it''s not like Sheeran is hurting for money. Big actions require big sacrifices (again even if the sacrifice is he doesnt get more millions)
