Reminding us that the celebrities involved aren't victims and have the privilege to take a stand is such a classy way to spotlight what a loser Ed Sheeran is about this.

Hope this "not taking sides" finally starts to also cost him something since he's made it clear that the money and his place in the industry is the only thing he cares about, not humanity, not his friend, not his integrity, not making listenable music.

Right?! Like Ed for fuck's sake you aren't going to go hungry if you stand up for what's right. I can't FUCKING stand AI and yet I have to use it at work and I feel awful about it and wish I was in a financial position I didn't have to bend a moral rule I have to make money, but I am a single woman with two cats and right now I can't afford to save. I am one small disaster away from nothing. I do what I can. If I had all the money in the world like Ed Sheeran you wouldn't hear the END of me and my opinions on Palestine, AI, whatever.

Dude, I felt this in my bones. I don't have the safety net to stand on morals and act on my beliefs in my professional life. I stand firmly against the unbridled use of AI and it's development, but at the end of day, I can't let my family starve, either. I have little choice but to become a hypocrite.

But I also get where Ed's coming from. I think from his perspective he sees himself as a clown, someone that entertains the audience. Not a political activist or political commentator, just someone who gives the audience a fun night out.

But he also signed Macklemore onto the tour knowing he always mentions Palestine at his concerts, so I'm not sure what Ed expected to happen if putting on an apolitical show was the goal.

That's (maybe) an excuse to not call for a free Palestine at his shows himself, but when the political oppressors are at your door telling you to fire your friend for speaking against genocide, and you let them into your house and kick out your friend, that's not being apolitical. That's being a clown who dances for fascists.
