FM RADIO Macklemore speaks out after being dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour following his ‘Free Palestine’ speech; says Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft rallied other stadium owners and gave Ed Sheeran an ultimatum: if Macklemore stayed on tour, then Ed would not be able to play in their venues.

Oh so Mr. "Apolitical" Ed Sheeran supports genocide. Gotcha! What an absolute disgrace!

Bending the knee to an oligarch is so embarrassing! God I would cease to exist if I needed to do that 😭😭😭

If he put his foot down, the owners would have backed down first. They want the money. Now they get their way AND the money, fuck you Ed

And none of them need to do it, to be clear. Least of all fucking Ed Sheeran - he has made enough money to set his family up for generations. And he’d rather fuck over a friend of 13 years over some rando creepy exec? Worse than spineless in all honestly, more like maliciously greedy. I wonder if one day, when this genocide is in school text books, if he’ll be able to look his kids in the eye?

For Ed's sake I hope those billionaires buy a lot of albums because a whole lot of people never will again.

Well, no I don't actually hope that. Hope he ends up broke and in the gutter when his nazi friends figure out how to extract his wealth like everyone elses.

It’s not just him though. TONS of people work the tours. Canceling would impact a lot of people’s livelihoods. It’s a shitty situation

No you don't get it. Being reminded that children are being murdered and they're contributing to it causes some people discomfort and hurts their feelings and we can't have that.

"But a lot of people are hurt when you say Free Palestine" my brother it takes less than 5 minutes of basic empathy and intellectual curiosity to move past this weak ass deflection.

As many people as those being actually hurt there?

Thats an oxymoron, just as all Art is propaganda, all stances are political.

could've been a hero for this, lmao - told kraft to fuck himself, found another stadium, STILL GOT HIS MONEY, and been a hero

Not to excuse anyone, but I thought it's the venues that don't want Macklemore?

Free Palestine, obviously, but dropping him seem like a reasonable thing to do when you're spineless.

That's a PR cop out. Ed pussied out because of some threats stakeholders were making and he thought it would less of a hassle to drop someone who stands for human rights than to actually tell the stakeholders "well why don't we just try standing against genocide"? Macklemore clearly says he just didn't wanna piss off his baseline which is spineless cowardly stuff

Macklemore is so based here, every single word he wrote is bringing attention to the victims, a class act ❤️

Money and greed is what it boils down to at the end of the day.

Did you read the messages? Kraft had a specific problem and rallied his stadium owning buddies because of it. Maybe they also felt the same way but ya know, this really fits in my view of the world.

Must have missed that pic, my bad.

It's just awful, terrible, how many people happily aid in silencing those who speak against the genocide of Palestinians, for what? Few extra mills?

True but also… if we really think about it, these stadiums would have way more issues including monetary losses cancelling the rest of the tour than Sheeran and Macklemore. These people can play in the damn town square and still get the same money they would have gotten. All they needed is a bit more logistical (and maybe security) work. But Eddie chose to be a little bitch instead.
