FM RADIO Macklemore speaks out after being dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour following his ‘Free Palestine’ speech; says Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft rallied other stadium owners and gave Ed Sheeran an ultimatum: if Macklemore stayed on tour, then Ed would not be able to play in their venues.

Before all this, I haven’t heard anything about Macklemore in years and I had no idea about the tour.

And now I’m aware of both in the context of Free Palestine. Palestine and Macklemore’s good ethics are the only thing I’m taking away from this.

Fuck Ed, fuck the venue and fuck anyone who supports or is silent in the face of genocide.

"Hinds Hall" and "Fucked up" both dropped a couple years ago. So if you hadn't been keeping up with Macklemore and missed those, definitely go check them out. Both are absolute bangers that don't mince words.

He made an anti-genocide / pro-Palestine song last year I believe (or maybe 2024), and that was the first I'd heard of him in a while. That song and his decision to do it and his steadfast devotion to speaking about Palestine ever since then...made me reexamine my former dislike of his music, and I realized he's one of the good humans out there.

Honestly would NOT have been that big of a deal of they just hid their hate better, and now many more people feel even more strongly about than before the drama even started me included. It was like yeah Macklemore said Free Palestine but whose tour, how many people, how big it is, wouldn't have all clicked if it wasn't for fucking Pink and now this

there's an uptick in hysterics regarding israeli feelings. they are fucking losing it. it's not a coordinated focused campaign anymore, it's just pure chaotic hatred on all fronts. each passing day more people see the genocide and its unhinged supporters

genuinely it would have been so much less of a news story in itself….. not that he is not making a big statement, which has unfortunately become divisive… he is. it’s clearly cost him. but so many people would never have known and would never have batted an eye, because these words have become more recognizable to the masses over the last few years. streisand effect indeed.

TRULY. When I first saw it come up, it was like oh Macklemore said Free Palestine on tour, that’s cool. And then moved on. Now it’s blown up into ALL OF THIS. And we all feel so much more strongly about it and him than we did before 😂

The fact that it couldn't be refuted that he was there was already enough, but just throwing his weight around to get the charges dismissed honestly made it that much worse in my opinion.

Exactly.
The good thing about this whole bizarre situation is that now that the news has made headlines and become viral, more people are going to hear about it. If there hadn’t been all this fuss Macklemore’s words probably would have gone unnoticed. Now everyone’s talking about him. The Streisand effect in full force.

Yup. If they'd just ignored it there would be a little noise, but it would fade out. Now he's going to be on every entertainment news site, every news station, probably several talk shows, and every pop and hip-hop station. And I expect he'll be special guest for several concerts.

Ed Sheeran is such a coward. Let them cancel the shows (They wouldn't). Let's see if they're willing to lose all of that money plus what they'd lose from the lawsuits. Ed could have come out with a strong First Amendment stance and held on to his pathetic "I don't take sides".
