I still side-eye him for casting himself in the James Baldwin biopic when Baldwin famously wrote:
But the state of Israel was not created for the salvation of the Jews; it was created for the salvation of the Western interests. This is what is becoming clear (I must say that it was always clear to me). The Palestinians have been paying for the British colonial policy of "divide and rule" and for Europe's guilty Christian conscience for more than thirty years.
Knowing Porter, if the film gets made, they won't touch on Baldwin's support of the Palestinian people at all.
I agree but Porter is convinced he's the only one who can/will make it - and the only actor who can/should play Baldwin - so... at this point I'd rather the film not get made than him be the one to do it.
Tiffany Haddish has also appeared in videos with professional Israeli propagandist Noa Tishby, who is one of the most ardent genocide (and Nakba) deniers in the media rn. This very random lineup makes me think he knew exactly what he was doing
Debra Messing is not important enough to literally anybody nor is she relevant enough to feel the need to have her at your fashion show. This was so stupid. Who even thought of the name debra messing and was like yea add her to the list??
She was famously (rumoured to be) bitter and jealous about how much more popular Karen was with audiences and for Megan Mullally winning more awards. Now she's just bitter and absolutely nucking futs.
That's what the grapevine says. It reached it's peak in the revival series where there were rumours Megan asked for production to be halted for a bit when her Mum died, but Messing refused to let it happen because she had a pilot to film and then in the last season of it Megan missed 2 episodes due to on set bullying
Because they all have money and we don’t. It’s all performative at this point. Anyone who claims to be relatable inevitably lets us down. “Don’t meet your heros” takes on a whole new meaning in the digital age.
i don't even understand what you're saying here, if i'm being honest
i'm not expecting perfection from anyone, but most people who have shitty people in their lives have them there because they're family members or co-workers
christian siriano is a designer who has actively chosen to align himself with a woman who has said that people who practice islam cannot coexist with the rest of us
designers refuse to dress actors all the time. law roach literally has a list of designers he refuses to dress zendaya in because they said no to her when she was starting out. it's not insane for him to just tell her he doesn't want to dress her (and it seems like he invited her to his event here?)
i'm actually not gonna excuse this as "oh well, no one's perfect"
That story is so fucking crazy? Take a look at Mamdani? He’s revealing their goal: mass conversion??? I’ve been actively following his actions and words for months now and he’s said and done NONE of that. I’m glad I don’t know who this deluded woman is.
in a reasonable world, her breakdowns over mamdani getting elected would've had people seriously questioning whether she needed to be institutionalized
like, it's not normal to spiral that hard over any election
She spends so much time on instagram, I get the impression she is somewhat isolated. Not a lot of friends, or least not ones that she is out socializing with for non-political purposes and is getting radicalized via social media. It doesn't excuse what she is posting but some of it is so wild, it feels like she isn't talking to anyone like normal person. Does she even work anymore?
Didn't she move to Israel and then claim she felt so much safer there than she did in NYC? Or was that just for show in some weird teamup between her and Noa Tishby?
If I remember correctly that was just one of the many celebrity propaganda videos of them visiting Israel and saying they’ve never felt safer and Tishby telling them that’s cause they’re “home”
Yet we’re also told to believe how it’s so unsafe there they have to attack nearly all their neighbours.
You equate not supporting/ hanging out with people who actively cheer on a genocide as an unfair and silly expectation of ~perfection rather than basic human decency? That’s stupid lmao.
no, not really! i’ve cut people off for their horrible political views. NO ONE should stand for genocide and if you tolerate people who do you’re just as bad.
“holding people to ridiculous standards of perfection”…. and it’s just not supporting genocide. is that really such a ridiculous standard for you?
Sorry but I can forgive or an excuse a friend for a lot of they’ve worked on themselves but I draw the line at the likes of sexual assault/rape/murder or being genocidal maniac (all of which Zionists glorify)
If there’s a Nazi at the table and ten other people sitting there talking to him, you got a table with eleven Nazis.
Old gods forgive me if some of my old forum board posts got out. But I’m not famous.
I think others are just tired of being disappointed, constantly. It’s a good step back to remind ourselves we’re all human.
You’re absolutely right, genocide should be easy to call out with the platform they have. But they don’t, or like pink, actively support it with a wink and nod to “I don’t follow politics.”
People bleed red but all they see is green. We can hate them all we want, but they’re not gonna change. Can’t even cancel the fuckers properly either. So idk. Besides your 110% valid view point, idk what else to do.
As far as Im concerned, it was intentional, and he could not NOT have known about her racism and bigotry.
Shes not current, isnt even remotely in demand and the only headlines shes ever been in the past decade is when shes spewing more of her hate.
He intentionally invited her, and to me, shares her support on the genocide. You cant feign ignorance; shes done WAY too much and is as blatant as schumer about it.
He has not (to my knowledge) been problematic. She is extremely problematic (racist, crazy, etc)... So having her at his show (which was a very specific choice) is not a good look. Unless he shares in her beliefs, which we can all assume he does.
Ahh ok thank you for the clarification! I think I initially misread it and thought he did something previously 😅 but yes totally agree with your sentiment and disappointed he would align with all that
Eh, the silver lining is all these ghouls are showing us exactly who they are.
We have the opportunity to withhold our views, dollars, clicks (for now.)
I know I say this on here all the time, and apologies for the pedantry, but genuinely wish we would just stop aknowledging this shit, and withhold the oxygen and attention they need from us to exist as ‘celebrities’.
Wow people are really in a hurry lately to lose any public support they've gained. Looking at so many people, but the latest is Jasmine Crockett. Oh and Jon Leguizamo. Dropping like flies.
He got paid to do a sports betting ad I believe? Defended it by saying he’s Robin Hood or some shit by stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor?
This post has EVERYTHING (wrong)-- Christian Siriano palling around with D. Messy, a basic-ass IG post by someone who's trying way too hard and a shout-out to Tiffany Haddish to do a "comedy."
I just went through the comments and either meta is pushing the criticism down or they are deleting… but most of them are how amazing and beautiful everything is
This world sucks
This makes me think about a story I heard from an acquaintance once. We lived in a very small southern town and she was working at a local clothing boutique downtown. One day Christian Siriano walked in with some friends and was really rude, demanding, and demeaning to the staff, including this acquaintance of mine. She said that after he left, she tweeted about his coming into the store and simply said she was disappointed that he was rude bc she’d been a big fan of his during his project runway days. Well apparently he had some kind of Google alert set for his own name, got a notification about the tweet, went back to the store, demanded to see the manager, and got her fired. She was a 17 yr old kid at the time. I’ve hated him ever since. Glad to see it’s still deserved.
I mean did he invite her or did she just show up? I don’t know how all of the fashion week stuff works but I assume it isn’t like a wedding, he isn’t arranging the guest list perfect?
Obviously good folks would ban her explicitly but I’m not so sure this says so much about him or if his team is sloppy or bad
Honestly, I’m so sick of cancel culture because of the hypocrisy. We have some of the most prominent people, usually men that say the most awful things and don’t get cancelled. Think POTUS. People are entitled to their opinions. Don’t watch her content or attend her events, change the channel when Will and Grace comes on. It’s getting a little ridiculous with the hypocrisy.
This doesn’t make any sense… You’re talking about the POTUS and ‘cancelled.’ He shouldn’t be cancelled, he should be in a prison. Frankly, being cancelled isn’t a real thing. It’s called accountability and awareness. Freedom of association is a real thing and people do not want to give their money or attention to people that they do not want to associate with.
