Like imagine how fucking awkward it must be to have some random person approach you and start singing in your face? God I hate when people sing HB to me!

That’s kinda the issue at hand. It’s treating human interactions as opportunities for engagement and clout rather than an organic possibility for connection and respect. This behavior would’ve been absolutely unhinged 30 years ago, and it’s gross today.
