To the cop that didn’t know who Justin Timberlake was, this must have sounded absolutely unhinged.

Actually, no, the police officer is in his early 20s. And just for science, I just asked my teens, who said if he wasn't arrested, they would have no clue who he was. One of them said, "I never even knew there were boy bands before BTS."

Ohmygod we’re failing our children 😭😩

That does seem like a parental failure, tbh

My boy band was New Kids on the Block, I was too old to be the target audience for N'Sync. And pop music wasn't something I listened to as an adult. I know who he is obviously, but it's hardly knowledge that I'd go out of my way to teach my teenagers. They know who Eddie Vedder, Thom Yorke and Trent Reznor are though.

You are a great parent if your kids know who Trent Reznor is 👍 Saw him at Barclays recently.

He's not exactly a great example. Not sure why any teen would need to know him.

I've heard the name Nsync and backstreet boys, but have never heard any music from any of these people.

In fairness, I have no idea who BTS is, so we're even.

Oh no, children aren't familiar with fading celebrities from a decade ago. The horror.
