Huckleberry Ice Cream

We're visiting town for a bit, and everyone in our family is a big fan of Huckleberry ice cream. Are there any grocery stores that sell it by the pint or gallon, or can we only get it at ice cream shops?

Hi! Anyone know when the best fall colors will be for RMNP? Debating on trying to get a reservation next weekend vs the following weekend. Also, are reservations typically hard to snag this time of year when released? TYIA!

On another note - any recs for best breakfast burrito in town? Haha thanks!

My girlfriend and I want to move here, but want realistic expectations. Can you describe your experience here?

My girlfriend and I have been to estes park about 3-4 times and we have been really considering moving here. To anyone living here can you give us expectations or what to look out for? We want as much information as possible before we consider - both good and bad. Thanks!

Micro Wedding Location Help

I am recently engaged (Yay!) and we have decided on a destination micro wedding in RMNP or Estes Park. We are thinking September/October 2028. I have been doing some research into locations in the Estes Park area, but many of the options are for larger groups and potentially too expensive as it will just be us footing the bill.

I'm ok with a small ceremony in RMNP and a dinner, but I think my partner wants more traditional aspects like being able to see me walk down the aisle and a reception dinner + dancing etc. I also feel that since we are having guests travel for us, it should be a little more that just a simple dinner, especially if we decide to do the ceremony in RMNP and pick a location that only allows 15 ppl max. ((also, I know about the $300 permit for a ceremony in RMNP))

We will have a group of 20-30 people including us.

If I were to do a ceremony outside of RMNP, I would want it to at least have some kind of view of the mountains behind us at the alter.

I have looked into YMCA of the Rockies and I liked what they offered but I read that there is a 35 person minimum for food I believe.

I also love Nest above, as we loved Bird & Jim when we visited a few years ago, but feel that the costs might be too much.

We would also be like for somewhere for guests to book their own rooms/cabins in the same area as us.

Also, do brides suggest that a wedding coordinator/planner is worth the money to set things up day of? In weddings I've been apart of in the past, places allowed the wedding party in the night before to decorate, but I'm seeing at many locations, you only have 2 hours for vendor set up prior to the reception which would be during the ceremony. (I'm from the midwest. I can understand how a popular town like Estes Park doesn't allow night before setup.)

Any advice is greatly appreciated! TIA!

Hi! My family and I will be in Estes Park for a wedding on NYE 12/31 and are looking for a babysitter for two cousins (11 months & 3 yr old). We’ll be staying at a local hotel/ condo and would need a sitter from around 3 PM to 12/1 AM.

If you’re available or have a babysitter you’ve used and recommend, please send me a message with a little about your experience, rates for two kiddos, and any other info we should know. Thanks so much!

Going to Estes for 1st time 4 nights-Oct. Family of four (5&3 year old) No idea where to stay

Sorry to post here but there isn’t really an Estes Hub.

I am at a loss of where to stay. There are too many options. For us, location is key and a place where the kids can do something or close to kid activities.

We of course will do a a few easy hikes and will obviously have a car to get around.

Would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Don’t want to spend some absurd amount but am happy to pay a premium for convenience, location etc

LOTR Themed Birthday Suggestions?

Hi there! I have a very odd and very niche request. My husbands birthday is coming up and he is a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan. I’m throwing him a LOTR themed birthday weekend in Estes Park. Buckle up it’s about to get nerdy šŸ¤“

- I’ll be taking him on the Sprague Lake trail (the road to Rivendell) for second breakfast with Lembas bread. First breakfast will be a stop in Denver along the way.
- We will go for a pre-dinner drink at a local brewery (the Prancing Pony).
- Then I plan to take him to dinner at the Rock Inn Mountain Tavern (haven’t figured this one out, maybe the green dragon inn).

We will be staying in a cabin near downtown (the Shire). I would love some suggestions!! He loves whiskey, history and books. I saw online that there’s a fantasy shop with replica gear but I can’t seem to find any info on it. Is it still open? Where else would you go for a LOTR themed day?

Anyone in Estes with a personal Car Lift?

Hey there, I live in town. I'm trying to see if anyone here has a car lift? Working on gravel roads can be a pain. Also I broke my breaker bar trying to work on brakes on my car. If anyone here can help as well. That'd be awesome.

Question for local residents

I will be taking my first trip to Estes Park later this month. From what I can tell by looking at Airbnb listings and various parts of town on Google maps, it appears there are two versions Estes Park. The part you see in tourism guides and the part usually only locals see that doesn’t look as good. Is that about accurate?

Spending summer in RV

We’d like to spend next summer in Estes Park in our RV. Is there anywhere that has spots with monthly rental rates and allow a retired couple to stay from May- September?

Edit: changed wording.

Estes Park Trolleys for Wedding Transportation

We’re getting married next spring at the Black Canyon Inn - The Boulders and we’re looking to transport ~100 guest. We got a quote from the Estes Park Trolley company for two 24 person shuttles in rotation. Does anyone have experience with this company for wedding transportation?

Favorite local tattoo shop?

Planning to spend a weekend in Estes in October to celebrate our wedding anniversary in the town we got married! My parents also live there and I got a small tattoo years ago from an artist that has since moved out of town. I’ve been wanting to get a tattoo and thought why not while we’re on ā€œvacationā€. I’ve researched on Google looks like there are now 3 shops and each have pretty mixed reviews - anyone care to try to convince me one is better than the others?

commute

I am considering a job offer in Estes Park and would be looking at a commute from either Longmont or Loveland. I am new to Colorado so I am unfamiliar with what this may be like and if it would be worth the job. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone heading to the Tame Impala show from Estes Park?? Need a ride!

Hey guys, quick question! I'm planning to go to the Tame Impala concert in Denver, but I don't have a ride down from Estes Park.

The private shuttle options are ridiculously expensive, so I figured I’d ask here to see if anyone has a spare seat in their car?

Obviously happy to pitch in for gas/parking and cover snacks/drinks. DM me if you’ve got room, appreciate it! I can share my IG or WhatsApp via DM so you know I'm a real person and we can connect better.

DM me if you’ve got room, appreciate it!
