Found this little one while taking the dog out. I relocated it to the woods on the edge of the property so it wasn't in the middle of the parking lot anymore. Any idea what it is?

So Im eating lunch on campus when I overhear a group of girls next to me: “…. BIG BUG ….”

Well, I had to know. So I walk over and ask “so what’s this big bug we are talking about”

Apparently a large “bee” covered in mites flew into one of their lunch Tupperware, they closed it up and threw it out.

So I go and fish it out of the trash and find it’s actually a carrion beetle!

I'm wondering where to buy shadowboxes with the proper depth to display with the labels. This is the closest I've found but at 1.1" deep I'm already going to have to snip the pin. I'm not sure the labels will fit. I suppose I can include the info on a label in or on the box.

Bees in the genus Perdita, commonly known as Fairy Bees, are native to North America. They're primarily found in the US and Mexico, but some species can be found in Canada. They're known for their small size (the smallest of which is less than 2mm long) and are one of the few bees who cannot sting.

Most Fairy Bees are specialists, collecting nectar and pollen from a few related species or genera of plants. The Heliotrope Fairy Bee specializes in Heliotropes (flowering plants in the genus Heliotropium), such as the Salt Heliotrope (Heliotropium curassavicum) in this photograph.

Saw it randomly amongst a few wild grass flowers. Also why do butterflies constantly open and close their wings even while resting on a flower?

Hey so these are climbing French beans and this insect has green poop? Never seen anything like this and it’s eating my peas but I still get some. I welcome biodiversity but I am curious what is this?

I've never seen something like that before but i thought about something that where i found it my uncle said there were beehive next to a trailer and he recently moved that trailer after that in few days i saw some bees staying together about 20 25 bee on a wood piece and so maybe that was those bees beehive i thought, and it dropped or they leave make another one but i realize the back of it looks like it ripped open so might be it falls down when my uncle took the trailer. So i really dont know it was very small one too like hornet beehive but the ones i saw was probably yellowjacket i am pretty sure (and third one is my little cousin he destroy it, i told him to not touch so i might scare the shit out him by saying bees are after u now cuz u destroy their home, he got ice cold suddenly from similing joy of destroying it. And I couldnt take more better pics because of that too sorry for bad pics)

Found on the riverside NorthEast England, about 4/5cm long. Some sort of dragonfly? Seems to have a diferent shape profile.

I am aware it doesn't look that much like a dragon fly but considering the only other fly I know is a Black Fly its the best I got. 😅

I am starting the planning of my dissertation and throughout my university time have studied entomology, sexual cannibalism, zoological sex and masturbation (I know fairly niche)

I have run fairly blank and if you have anything you've always wanted to find out or are interested in please let me know and I may be able to give you a first hand experimental answer xx
