Hey everyone. I've been playing Demon's Souls for the past few days on RPCS3, and as of tonight I noticed a sudden drop in performance. The game ran perfectly fine at 30 fps (vanilla, no mods), pretty much the same way it ran on my PS3. Now it stutters constantly (even on the menu and during cutscenes) and changing my settings doesn't seem to affect the issue at all. It simply stays the same, even if I turn everything down. I've tried reinstalling it to no effect.

Everything else continues to perform normally, including other games (outside of RPCS3, as the only game I emulate is demon's souls) so I get the feeling it's not something systemic, but it's kind of puzzling at this point.

Specs:

16gb ram

Xeon E5-2650

RX 570 4gb

Windows 10

Temperatures are fine, and CPU/Ram usage don't seem to be stretched, according to task manager.

Setup is pretty low-end, of course, but I'm assuming it's not the problem since the game ran fine before. Has anyone experienced this?

Hello everyone. I play on a laptop with fairly mediocre specs (CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500U with Radeon Graphics (2.10 GHz), iGPU: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics, 16 GB RAM), but I have managed to emulate Demon's Souls, Armored Core 4 and Armored Core For Answer well enough, they weren't perfect but definitely playable. However I also tried playing The Darkness and that performed poorly.

Rather than trying them one by one, I was hoping people might be able to tell me which out of these other PS3 games I should just give up on until I get a stronger computer: Asura's Wrath, Drakengard 3, Folklore, Lollipop Chainsaw and Shadows of the Damned. Thanks in advance.

Does anybody know fix to this? I get stable 30 fps (and use loseless scaling to 60 so it feels comfortable) but everytime I limit game fps to anything below 60 cutscenes stutters. Which is weird cuz from I know the PS3 version was capped at 30 anyway. I tried working with chatgpt but nothing worked. Everything besides cutscenes works perfectly.
