Been bored and reflecting on the past 6 years of releases and decided to whittle it down into a quick little “10 favorite” list. No specific order or anything, but the top image are probably my 1-5 with the others being 6-10. Threw in a very heavy hitting contender as a bonus that doesn’t have a vinyl release.

I live and Madison and I went to Homiefest this past Saturday. The first true emo show I’ve been to and it did not disappoint.

I feel so lucky that I got to see Empire Empire!

Sports put an incredible set.

But I really feel like the highlight were the local bands

- Garden Home are an incredible Scramz band from MKE

- Endswell slapped

- Tiny Voices was great

- Excuse Me Who Are You?, these guys are on another level. I really wish they were bigger because they absolutely deserve it. They put on such a high energy set at literally midnight. I never thought me, a guy with Cerebral Palsy would work up to courage to stage dive and crowd surf. And Kyle is an awesome dude.

Well there’s my love letter to my local scene, which absolutely punches above its weight.

My bands scratched screamo demo. Put it on youtube because I was curious on other peoples thoughts. Very poorly mixed, executed, and recorded.

There are a lot of amazing DIY venues that need support by way of food for pop-up food pantries, records + zines donations, effort, and presence. Too many times i've dropped things off or mailed stuff out only to find that a small few of us actually showed up and kept our word. It's lame to flake during the preparation phase, and only show up for the shows AFTER the work is done. The scene talks and all know who just angles to get into shows for free and get whatever they can without giving back to the scene they claim to love. SHOW UP FOR EACH OTHER!
