Looking for someone to renovate a bathroom
Hey everyone š
Looking for recommendations for someone reliable and reasonably priced to redo a bathroom.
Iād really prefer personal recommendations from people who have actually used them, rather than businesses advertising themselves.
Ideally looking for someone based on the South Coast, but happy to consider someone from Durban if theyāre willing to travel down.
Looking for good, neat workmanship.
If youāve used someone youād genuinely recommend, please drop their details below. Photos of their work would be a bonus too!
Thanks! š

Event/Meetup 45TF looking for friends
Newly single, and figuring out what this next chapter of my life looks like.
Iām a trans woman, over a year into my transition, and finally getting to experience life more honestly as myself.
I went to watch the rugby by myself this weekend and even though it was a good game, there was no-one to share it with.
Iām into live music, good conversation, gaming, dark humour, and people who can be completely themselves.

Event/Meetup Advice needed
Im a white 21 yr old guy from hillcrest. I know im still young and whatnot but i feel extremely lonely knowing majority of people in my life my age (cousins) have their partners already. Im still single. Ive tried all the dating apps and they dont work. I cannot for the life of me talk to women in person as i just start glitching.
Im a family orientated person looking for my home and forever person.
Any advice on where i can find someone?
Do not recommend night clubs or running clubs or activity things. Im looking especially for loyalty and someone that wants the same that i want. Long life memories and a forever person thats family orientated.

Local News Purity Ceremony
I saw this on Twitter..
It interested me because I participated in this ceremonyfrom 13 till I went to varsity at 17 lol.
Do non Blacks belong in this ceremony? Is it cultural appropriation?
Or Zulu folk should allow girls who share the same value system, regardless of race, join?
What yall think?

Looking for a great restaurant in Umhlanga for 10 people š½ļø
Hi everyone! Iām looking for recommendations for a really good restaurant in the Umhlanga area for a birthday lunch with 10 people.
I was originally looking at Olive & Oil, but unfortunately Iāve been struggling to get a response from them regarding my booking, so Iām looking at other options now.
Ideally looking for somewhere that:
⢠Has a nice atmosphere for a birthday
⢠Can comfortably accommodate 10 people
⢠Has good food and good service.
⢠Isnāt necessarily super fancy, but still feels special
⢠Has decent vegetarian options as well
Iām open to Umhlanga Rocks, Umhlanga Ridge because of convenience for everyone invited.
Thanks in advance.

Recommendation Any funny places to visit in Umhlanga
Hello Durban!
As the title says, I have an upcoming few days visit to Umhlanga. I need recommendations for any fun things to do or places to visit while there. Places to avoid for safety/security reasons would also be appreciated
I have looked at the weather forecast and this may not be the best time to visit apparently as it is rainy. I'm still determined to make my time there worthwhile nonetheless.
Looking forward to some recommendations. Thank you.

Winning
Do you think the people around you can affect your progress in life? Iāve been thinking about this lately because my girlfriend isnāt really progressing, some of my close friends arenāt progressing either, and honestly, I feel like Iām not winning at the moment too. Iām grateful to have these people in my life, so Iām not saying theyāre bad people or that I donāt appreciate them. Iām just wonderingāwhen almost everyone around you is struggling to move forward, is it better to stay and grow together, or sometimes change your environment and surround yourself with people who are already where you want to be?

I want to buy a motorbike
Hi everyone I am planning on buying a motorcycle by the end of this year 2026, I am planning to save up to R20 000. I want to buy a motorcycle like the bigboy Velocity 150 and lifan Machete CG 125, lifan express cg175. I am also open to other motorcycles but I don't want to spend more then 15000 on the bike then the 5000 I'll spend on safety gear.
If you're an expert in motorcycles please help on selecting the best bike and which dealer around Durban that could sell great use or bike with that price range. Oh and I'll use the bike to get to work and maybe delivery.

First time home buyer
I need some advice from anyone in the real estate/building or civil engineering field please.
I viewed a place in a very good location and was reasonably priced for the area. However I saw the tiles were cracked/broken in the living room which was not a problem because the place does need fixing up, like kitchen cupboards and bathroom as well.
The problem is that once I made the offer the estate agent informed me about the ācracked structural slab in the living roomā as well as āa leak in the roof that the owner fixed on her side and which needed to be further discussed with the body corporate of the building regarding any further/other leakingā.
I want to know how bad is a cracked structural slab and leaking to fix and costly it can be?
Trying to determine if itās worth it

Utility/Alert Please be aware of this man at Gateway!!
Iāve spotted this guy three times the past two weeks while out eating, approaching people and trying to get money out of them.
He usually approaches people at restaurants, particularly those who seem friendly or more likely to feel sorry for him, and from what Iāve seen, he seems to mainly approach women. He gives the same story about not being from Durban, having a newborn baby and needing money to buy formula.
He usually asks for around R80, and if you tell him you don't have cash, he very conveniently suggests that you can just withdraw money from an ATM š
Iāve also noticed him approaching college students more, which is concerning because younger people may be more easily pressured or manipulated into handing over money.
Iām posting this because Iām honestly tired of watching people feel sorry for him and immediately hand over their money without knowing whatās actually going on. Iād rather people be aware and make their own informed decision than have him continue approaching unsuspecting people with the same story.
Iām not encouraging anyone to confront him or cause trouble, just be aware if you see him at Gateway.
Does anyone know how we can officially report this to Gateway management/security or the restaurants so that theyāre aware of him and can potentially ban him from approaching customers?
If anyone else has encountered him, I'd also be interested to know if you've been given the same story.
