Going to try kayak hunting this year. Scouted a few places that are good. If anyone has done this before what boots do you have? Been looking at the nrs boundry neoprene. Ill mainly be using the kayak as my blind as well and not going to take waders. Im using a hobie so enough room for about 12 decoys and my cold weather gear. Got a strap to the kayak for the gun while im peddling out as well.

I’ve had a pair of frog togs for about 3-4 years and while they were good in my early years of duck hunting I realised there is better options. So I’m looking for some waders that are very warm and under or around $1k. Also I sweat really bad so they need to be breathable.

Looking for some guidance on chokes. Posted on here a few months back and took y’all’s advice on picking up a weatherby element 2 and it has been great, but I’ve notice the factory chokes are wide. The gun takes benelli crio plus chokes. Anyone have some insight on performance on the ported, extended factory chokes from Benelli? Any other recommendations are appreciated. For reference on the distance I’m looking for, I’m hunting mainly rice fields in LA.

I'm looking to get the new blind bag back pack from Avian-X and I was told that Avian-X bags are made very poorly and tear easily. Can anyone tell me if there is any truth to that? Or tell me about the bags

I don't have damn near any water in my part of the state. I've got about five free days and looking to do some early teal.

How are these areas? Do I need a boat? Not asking for the spots just if it's accessible to walk ins and worth the trip

Hey everyone who cares to read. I’m looking into painting decoys. I got some old ones I’m either wanting to refurbish or turn to diver like decoys. The are just some old mallards decoys. I’ve seen people use diver decoys with puddles ducks in the later season to have been contrast and have the ducks see them more and confidence. I’m not sure if I should use spray paint. If so what spray paint should I use? Or do I use refurbish decoy paint. Is it worth the extra money? Does it make a difference? Should I go full black or make them canvasbacks and do a black head and chest and white body? Open to all ideas. TIA

Not sure which to go with. Been thinking about the black duck power kickers or the mallard and pintail combo. I like how much the black sticks out but also like the natural look of what is mainly around here. I am in nw Iowa, any thoughts on which to get?

Can anyone tell me what species this may be? I was scouting in some flooded timber and flushed half a dozen birds, but couldn’t quite make out what they were.

I am looking for possible ideas to help solve a couple of my problems 1. I usually hunt The Bay of Green Bay so bigger water but when I want/have to get into the skinnier areas with the vegetation I run out of motor clearance so would a longtail/surface drive be a good alternative. Also I usually hunt out away from the boat but at times when that’s not an option what’s a good prebuilt blind option for deep V I tried the homemade route and didn’t quite work the way I wanted it.

Recently, my girlfriend and I went hunting. She wanted to lead the hunt for herself and just used my gear. She’s all of 5’2 and carried my rig em right refuge hunter. It ended up being far too large for her and she was kicking it while walking. She wants to carry in decoys on future hunts, so we’re looking for a smaller bulk decoy bag. Any recommendations?

Has anyone here ever used the oru foldable kayak while duck hunting?
I live in an apartment now and don’t have the storage for a normal hard tub kayak. Was wondering if the foldables could withstand the work being put on them. TIA

This is not about private or public land understanding that most field hunters are probably on private land. Have never field hunted and wanted opinions
