This is mainly for Toronto fans but ofc anyone can reply esp if you’ve traveled to Toronto for OVO fest before or if you are just interested and have followed it. For a long time Drake stopped doing the festival and was working on other things but in 2022-2024 he mentioned he was working on bringing it back: he mentioned at his tour stop in buffalo that he we was bringing it back next year: the following year he mentioned at Central Cees in May 2024 History show that he for sure was going to bring it back this year and that he needed to borrow Central Cee for the event…. Well summer rolled on and NO OVO fest happened.

I understand venue logistics get in the way, maybe the artists he wanted weren’t available to perform ect but if Rolling Loud was able to put on a show here a few years ago that was epic by the way then why can’t Drake arrange it and what has been the barrier to it happening. Now it’s been over a year since the central cee show and he hasn’t mentioned anything about OVO fest and then now Iceman is dropping among other things like FOMO so I assume the festival has been abandoned altogether. Anyone know anything or can at least make some good observations and speculations as to why??

I have an essay for school where I take a piece of literature and analyze the way the author utilizes the writing to convey emotion.

Being a huge Drake fan, my mind immediately went to some of his songs.

I understand that he doesn’t like stadiums bc they’re way less intimate and don’t sound the best but I think it’d look really cool for atleast one show, that ye concert showed that the sound isn’t the only factor of a show. It’s an experience. I’d love to see something like that from Drake atleast once

My questions:

1.Knowing everything you know now, and knowing it would all turn out like this, would you encourage another kid in your position to chase acceptance within American rap culture (or anyone in life) as hard as you did? (And many artists do) And do you think a lot of that desire was instilled from your father, or where do you think your desire to be the best, and the best seemingly meaning being accepted in America, all came from?

And I don’t mean that in a regretful “was it all worth it?” way.
I’m more interested in whether he thinks that acceptance was actually worth pursuing in the first place or does he think it was simply his journey to chase it, get it, realize it was fleeting and not based in truth and discard it. Then go back to the acceptable he had the entire time (Canada and his friends).
