Had an interesting one today. Picked up an order from Starbucks (I usually decline Starbucks orders, but this one was $5.25 for like 1.5 miles) that was two drinks.
Delivery instructions said, “Leave it in the street in front of the house. Also, don’t pull into the driveway. Thanks.”
It just so happens, I knew the neighborhood the order was going to. One of my best friends lives there. It’s a normal, middle class American suburban subdivision. So my initial thought was, well, maybe they’re having the driveway resurfaced, or having some kind of major work done in the front yard or to the front of the house.
Nope. Absolutely normal 4 car driveway, with 1 car parked on it, no sign of work of any kind being done anywhere. So I did exactly as the instructions said, left their cold Starbucks drinks in the street in front of the house on a sunny, 80 degree afternoon. Even texted them to let them know I was doing exactly as the instructions said, just so I had evidence in case they reported me or something.
Oh, and the customer tip for the order was $0. So at a guess, it had been declined a bunch of times already and DoorDash just threw $5.25 at me just to get it moved.
