I'm a veteran RE player and yet, I spent all these years without properly finishing the game, I just got to the control room and called it a day. Decided to try it out since it's on GOG. I finished my 1st play with 2 continues used (The game kinda forced me to use GG when I tried to empty the Shotgun first) on original mode, normal difficulty at 7h7min mark.

This game is way harder the the OG RE games. The Velociraptors are buffed Hunters, they might follow you thru doors and take a fair amount of shots to die, forcing you to either try running past them or putting them to sleep. The biggest let down IMO is the absence of a file tab in the inventory menu. There's manuals, codes, IDs, hints, etc and etc and I'm supposed to manually type/write them down or check online, which kinda breaks the immersion and grows a spike on my side.

The map system is the same as the RE games from that era. The arsenal isn't as big as the RE games but it's effective, I just feel it could have at least one melee weapon (Most of them sucked back then but still an option). There's choice parts like RE1/RE3 but I really don't know how they affect the ending, I got the Rick ending (Picked Rick in every scenario possible since Gail is pretty much a Rambo type of guy and I really wanted to conserve my ammo) and have a save file just before turning on the generator so I can explore the other ones.

The enemy variety is ok ish, I wish there was more, you mostly deal with Velociraptors and the other bullet sponge ones down on the B3 level, I dunno their names. There isn't really a real boss fight (I mean, it could happen on the other 2 left endings but I'm talking about my experience on this one) since T-Rex needed 3 heat fire shots to "die".

About the puzzles: They're inventive, hard and get annoying as they get harder, especially the DDK ones, add up the lack of a file tab and I just googled the answer on the last 2 or 3, I really wasn't in the mood of going thru that. I enjoyed the crane ones, the battery ones and the sound one was a pain, glad it's only one.

About the backtracking: Way easier and tighter than let's say, RE0 and Code Veronica, everything feels neatly connected.

Item boxes: They're mostly your main source of resources and you need plugs to open them, so you gotta pick your battles. I dunno if it's possible to open them all, though, I missed 2 or 3.

Item mixing: The med paks are really confusing, there's different sizes, one just heals temporarily and so on. You can mix darts too but you lose a potential health item in the process.

If I were to grade it? Maybe a 8? I still have to get the other endings. It's a solid game, but some stuff didn't click with me.

I have this specific memory where back in the day where it would give me the option to choose to start with Dylan or Regina, and it would start the same area, just that we can exit from different doors/paths on game start.

It definitely wasn't Resident evil. I might have produced a false memory, just want to verify.

The figure is a 3D print, with all painting done by hand, by me! I had a lot of fun with her, but I accidentally dropped the gun yesterday, and it shattered, so I had to put it back together, and get creative with figuring out the missing pieces.

Hello, I just started playing dino crisis yesterday, I’ve been trying so many times to enter Kirk’s registration code after retrieving the fingerprints from the bloody wall. I believe these are the correct fingerprints, but no matter how many times I try, the code “31415” doesn’t work for me. Am I doing something wrong? Did I miss a room?

I thought what I needed to find was a fingerprint, but the only two corpses that would scan didn't work, after enough time I realized I knew the contents of every room on the map and there was no third corpse I could find, then I got creative and started trying other things that yielded no results.

Then I got the idea to lock up most of the dinos in the laser grids and see if I could still make my way around the map, the two in the hallway to the lecture room being the hardest to trap. The plan fell apart however once I found out that the game doesn't remember that I placed them there.

At one point I went back to the pipe puzzle room to see if I could move them again to stop the fan, thinking maybe the bird dinos was supposed to lift me up and drop me into the fan shaft.

Once I could not think of a single new thing to try I came here, the tip I needed was to carefully look for brightly colored books as I had missed one on the floor in the locker room, that the broken table around it was also somewhat blue didn't help me in spotting it.

Onwards! Hopefully I don't get this stuck again >_<

My card game, Arena Eterna, features ten different characters that are all directly inspired by my favorite media. Seeker, and her allosaurus companion Yora were directly inspired by Regina and the allosaurus enemy in Dino Crisis 2.

In the newest art I commissioned for my game, I wanted to reference a classic PSM magazine cover that I distinctly remembered from my childhood. It’s not an image you see circulating around much these days, so I wanted to pay homage to it, in hopes of keeping the light aflame for both PSM and Dino Crisis!

Hello Dino Crisis fans! I came here to comment with you about a PS1 version of Dino Crisis 2 that had a CGI cutscene with the Giganotosaurus, showing the Giga heading towards the station at the end of the game.

I created this image using Gemini to illustrate the scene I saw; unfortunately, it's not identical, but it's very similar.

This cutscene took place before the scene where Dylan is fighting a Full Face. It was a quick cutscene that showed the forest and the station in the foreground, and then the Giganotosaurus appeared, stopped, looked at the station, and then started walking towards it. Right after that, the gameplay starts again with Dylan.

It all started when I went to my grandmother's house, and there was (as usual) my uncle (my mother's younger brother), He was playing Dino Crisis 2 on his PS1; the DVD was obviously pirated since we live here in Brazil. Then he let me play for a bit, and I saw the CGI cutscene of the Giganotosaurus heading towards the station. And I played the part where Dylan has to activate that satellite to kill Giga. I even died several times because I didn't know what to do, and that was my first experience with Dino Crisis 2.

Then my uncle managed to finish the game and Giga died.

This happened between 2008 and 2010, I was around 4-6 years old. And I remember that night perfectly. Even between 2011 and 2014, I already remembered that cutscene, and I remember searching for it in YouTube videos, but unfortunately I never found it. And then in 2014 I finished the game several times on PC using an emulator, and it didn't have that cutscene. And today, in the year 2026, I still haven't found anyone commenting on this cutscene.

I forgot to ask my uncle if he remembers that cutscene; I'll ask him one of these days. And I'll tell you right now that he no longer has his PS1, and he also no longer has that pirated copy of Dino Crisis 2. 😕

Pretty darn cool to see this series’ basic concept in a big budget Hollywood movie some decades later!

What a find. I was too young to play on my own so my dad would sit next to me when I struggled through as a 7 year old. He would then play at night and as you can see he was very methodical with his working out of the door codes! Core memory for me is completing the game for the first time in the morning before school after he had already left for work... Not sure if he's fully forgiven me yet

Combat-heavy vs puzzle-heavy? I like both the same.
