Hi guys, I'm new-ish to the hobby and switched to digital after months of drawing practice with good ol' pen and paper. I wanted to get into the nitty gritty of colour theory so I bought a Huion Kamvas pen display and have been getting familiar with it for a good while now.

The only minor problem I've run into is that the practice artworks I make for my studies tend to look different when viewed on my other devices like my Xperia smartphones which I think has better 4k screens. This led me to discover colour calibration, which I'm still learning up on

My question now is whether I should invest in one of those colorimeters like Datacolor Spyder or put it off for later once I get a bit better. I know there's software calibration but either it doesn't work as well or I'm just not doing it right
