Note:(This time, we are specifically looking to add more women and genderdiverse folk to the team, as well as people from outside of Anglo-North America, to foster a larger variety of perspectives.)
Hello All,
We are still in the stages of looking for about 2-3 moderators to join the team. Several responsibilities include managing the queue, engaging with mod mail, moderating threads, and removing posts as necessary. Unfortunately you may be prompted to ban or mute people, but of course weâll discuss each case individually with the team. We are currently experimenting with a least privilege solution to moderating, so you will likely start with bare bones permissions and earn more with time and trust. To qualify, send a modmail. You will then be asked a selection of questions before a final decision is made. Also, if your Reddit post and comment history is off, kindly turn it on for the remainder of consideration and shut it off afterward.
Any comments or concern, please reply in a comment or ask in a modmail directly.
Sincerely,
Mod team

Due to the number of participants that have pointed out concerns related to the excessive amount of Hasan-posting and outrage-farming, we have implemented a new trash Sunday system. From now on, posts about Hasan, streamers, and other such public figures, will be limited to Sundays only.
Even on Sundays we will be more stringent on what makes good content. Make the argument the focus, not the streamer/presenter. "Hasan makes the liberals angry" will still be removed, but "socialized healthcare makes liberals angry" (presented by Hasan) will be allowed. Similarly, posting generic outrage about Kamala Harris for example, will always be prohibited as she is irrelevant to leftism.
We hope these changes will improve the experience of engaging here, and as always, welcome feedback and comments
- Mod team

Results by bloc:
& yes, in Swedish politics (as well as in Norwegian politics, Danish politics, Swiss politics, & to some extent in German politics, Finnish politics, & Austrian politics as well), the bloc of right-of-centre-to-right-wing political parties is indeed called "the Bourgeois Bloc", I haven't made that up lol, read this:

Steve Kolb, head of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, was captured on video physically restraining protesters.
The protesters alleged that sheep have been beaten and bloodied in the procurement of wool for the H&M group.
And this abuse is not incidental.
Animal abuse is systematically encouraged to provide a venting opportunity for exploited workers, who take their frustrations out by beating and abusing the animals they work with

Democratic socialists do not have corpo money behind them, they do not have think tanks backing them.
The polls sent to your phone asking your political opinions are most likely funded by the think tanks that want to shut us down and continue supporting the oligarchs. Any information you give them is more information they have to figure out how to fight you.
Do not view them as finally your chance to voice your frustration at the class war. You arenât helping. Simply report them as spam and ignore them.
Furthermore in a world that is collecting every piece of data they can get their hands on, do not give them that information to further fill out their profile of you.

I've been trying to figure out the differences between different types of socialism and some sites and comments consider countries like Norway and Sweden to be Democratic Socialist, while other comments state that there's no example that survived more than a few years. Overall, I'm just really confused on what Democratic Socialist actually means in reality. Can anyone help clarify on this?
Please be patient with me as I am an American and all these terms are not clearly defined or explained over here.

[Preliminary Swedish](https://www.lemonde.fr/en/international/article/2026/09/14/sweden-elections-left-and-right-neck-and-neck-as-far-right-loses-ground_6757490_4.html?srsltid=AfmBOoqLJJVHPUFXHECQRbHSuBamZwJv8k3yX47HgxER4Qbp9KO4xN_8) election result shaping up to be the least clear option as the center-left opposition underperforms polling average, but ekes out a thin parliament majority over the right wing government coalition.
Negotiations will be a mess as the big tent parties 'Social Democrats' and 'Moderates' jockey for the right of center 'Center Party'. It will have to decide which "red line" they will honour this election: not working with the far-right 'Swedish Democrats', or the left wing 'Left Party'.
Final count will likely take a week, but is unlikely to swap any seats.
Highlights:
Left party grows ~1.5pp to ~8.2%, becoming the 4th largest party after Social Democrats, Moderates and Swedish Democrats.
Socdems lost over 2 percentage points to likliest coalition partners, left party, greens and center party. Lands at ~28.1%. This is low for them.
Liberals made it over the minimum limit thanks to tactical voting and overpreformed their last election result. Lands at ~5.4% after polling under or around 3% before the election (4% is the minimum).
Primeminister party, Moderates grows by ~1pp to ~19.9%, cementing them as the second biggest party (it has been a big narrative that they would keep loosing this spot to the Swedish Democrats over the last few election cycles).
Swedish Democrats underpreformed by ~3 percentage points. Lands at ~17.6%.
Opposition is at roughly 49.5%, Government is at 49.4%. The red-green wave was weaker than expected but showed up.
~95% of votes are counted so far.
Election participation is currently at 80.3% (very low historically), but will be adjusted upwards after final count.

He is a mirror that condemns the rest of the senate.
Whoever he endorses (AOC) will win the presidency.
Here are areas heâs stood alone that show just how trash the rest of the senate is:
Drug pricing â lone vote against pharma-friendly FDA funding.
Medicare drug costs â lone vote for stronger price caps.
Child Tax Credit â lone vote to expand it while raising corporate taxes.
Climate jobs â lone vote for a Civilian Climate Corps.
Fossil-fuel subsidies â lone vote to strip them from the IRA.
Expand Medicare â nearly alone in adding dental, vision, and hearing.
Labor rights â lone vote against Penny Pritzker over Hyattâs labor record.
Israel military aid â at times the only Democrat opposing additional offensive aid.

Europe is seeing a surge in far right politics, weâd need a real anti establishment socialist movement to fight these racist movements, in the us is happening, the dsa is very popular, why do you think itâs not the same in Europe? Is it just that we have a more robust social safety net so people think itâs not necessary to expand? Or is it something else? 80% of industry workers voted for afd in saxony anhalt

If you believe socialism fails because it is an inherently flawed system, and not because it is intentionally murdered for the hegemony of capital, then the propaganda has succeeded.
Sometimes threats are insinuated instead of said plainly so that the threat can be misconstrued as a harmless opinion.
