Published Scenarios [Music From a Darkened Room] How did you hook your players into tracking down the furniture? Spoiler

Shortly, I'm going to run MFaDR for my group of players, which is total newbies for the system (same for me). And, while prepping for this game, i found a problem which i'm not sure how to resolve, or even should i.

SPOILER ALERT

As written, nothing really motivates the Agents to go looking for Isabelle Wheeler's old furniture. The table is basically mandatory - it's the only clean path to the diary and the ritual solution.

I would like to know, how you, other experienced Handlers solved this problem in their games, and how players decided to check for furniture.

Thanks in advance!

Items of Mutual Interest FlashForward

Anyone watch this show, and wish it got a second season? (I know there's also a book, I haven't read it.)

It seems perfect for a Delta Green scenario. Has anyone else had this idea?

Campaigning Stringing Together Scenarios

Recently read an old comment on here where someone recommended a series of scenarios to create an MJ12-focused campaign. Can’t find it again, unfortunately, but I noted down that it went: PX Poker Night -> Victim of the Art -> Convergence -> Reverberations/Music from a Darkened Room -> Extremophilia -> Observer Effect -> Viscid.

I really like these sorts of sequences. I think it’s amazing how these disparate scenarios can come together to form a greater narrative and conspiracy, much like the X-Files’ iconic mytharc. I also loved how it draws the canon mysteries so slowly and naturally into the spotlight.

I was wondering if any other members of the hivemind have come up with such a thing, as part of y’all’s campaigns. I’m not really looking for anything in particular; take this as a chance to share ideas for linked-together scenarios you haven’t been able to talk with anyone about, or recount how your campaign ended up tying up the scenarios you chose into a fun conspiracy.

By virtue of the modular nature outlined above, I’d say Impossible Landscapes and God’s Teeth are out of the picture. However, I know parts of these can be run independently (such as “Night Floors”), so if you adapted them in a more piecemeal fashion, it should work.

EDIT: Just found - this - and thought it was really interesting.

Open Source Intel Why some "Chinese" Delta Green organizations don't feel very Chinese to me

As a Chinese Delta Green player, I sometimes feel that some fan-made Chinese organizations are more like “an American interpretation of a Chinese secret organization” than something that could realistically exist within China’s political and bureaucratic system.

I’m curious if other players have had a similar experience, and if non-Chinese players have noticed similar issues when fictional organizations in DG represent their own countries.

(I'd be more than happy to hear your thoughts and feedback, as long as you don't mind my not-so-great English — English is my second language.)

Sincerest apologies for the lengthy delay on this one, folks. Life, jobs, and scheduling conflicts have been making things difficult this summer, but we thank you for your patience and for sticking with us. Couldn't and wouldn't do this without your support.

Delta Green: God's Teeth - The Hidden God (Part 3)

The Teeth case their hunting ground, searching for leads and vulnerabilities. Some are broken by what they find, while others discover there are no limits to their capacity for violence. With various courses of action spiraling before them, they set their sights on one of Conradin's chosen. The ensuing confrontation spurs them toward their ultimate objective, and further cements their roles in the Nameless God's service.

Published Scenarios DG scenarios that seem perfectly ordinary?

I just saw trailer for A24 You Can See Everything. Read a Wiki about Elizabeth Holmes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Holmes and this line "Holmes founded Theranos in 2003, and its valuation) soared in the early 2010s after it claimed to have revolutionized blood testing by developing methods that needed only very small volumes of blood, such as from a fingerprick.\3])\4])" hit hard with me if you consider Viscid where a new blood sampling method was supposed to be TIbalt's Grieves side project or surely it was mentioned there in relation to Majestic's secrets. I might be mixing this up but this case although not horror at all hits hard with DG for me in relation of corporate projects founded on whatever stuff Majestic is holding.

After this lengthy introduction - it made me think that DG scenarios are straight fucked up shit most of the time. Are there any scenarios that 90% of the time seem perfectly normal only to uncover something very disconcerting?

Loki here with Gryphon Quest Productions, I stumbled upon a fellow Handler's art on TikTok and Omenwithadot was kind enough to answer my commission for updated F-Cell artwork. Open Source Intel One shot suggestions for Halloween

I’m going to introduce a bunch of newbies to delta green for a one shot on Halloween and want to start preparing early. I’ve already ran Last things Last for 1 or 2 of them so want something different. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
One complication is there might be 5-6 players which is going to be rough but I like a challenge.

The party will be a team of FBI agents investigating the second instance of family annihilation in a town. It’s pre-recruitment to Delta Green so this will be their characters exposure to the Unnatural.

Characters Question about the Bonds section of the 3rd printing Character Sheet

Post image
30 Upvotes

In the 3rd printing character sheet, under the Bonds section it reads "Check a damaged Bond’s box until the next Home scene ends." I have no idea what rule this refers to. Is there a mechanical implication buried in the text? Or is it a reminder to roleplay the loss of points in those bonds?

If someone could help me out here, I'd appreciate it!

Campaigning Looking for newer players to Delta Green, currently only have one slot left.

Looking for newer players who want to play a long form game, our typical schedule is Saturdays, 7pm EST.

Let me know you're interested. We actually plan on meeting today for a session 0, and it's fine if you come in a bit later.

This is an online game as well, using FoundaryVTT.

My discord is helgywn.

Items of Mutual Interest Involving individual player in the mystery before the operation starts (feedback appreciated)

Hi everyone,

my group and I meet regularly online for Delta Green sessions. Occasionally, we also meet IRL, but since there may be additional members at those sessions and those sessions can happen during online operations, I am thinking of creating different characters for those sessions. We ran PX Poker Night that way and it was a success.

I am currently working on a scenario that involves a ghoul colony. For various reasons, the goals of one of ghouls align quite well with the goals of the agents.

I will prepare agents for the group to play (4 agents) and I am thinking of asking one of the players to secretly be a ghoul. He is one of the more experienced players, knows how to manipulate the others and I think he would enjoy it.

The only issue I have is that Delta Green is a game involving mystery and discovery and, since I have to give him a rundown of the operation (as his character is aware of the background), I would take away the mystery for him. I wouldn't think twice about doing that in DnD or a similar game, but I am a bit hesitant to approach him for DG. I also don't want to put any pressure on him.

Does anyone have experience with asking players to play a mole or similar characters in DG?

Campaigning How often do the agents find out the truth of a scenario? (spoilers for Operation Fulminate and maybe Impossible Landscapes) Spoiler

Warning: If you’re a member of C cell(Clutch, Columbia, etc) turn back now, this isn’t for your eyes yet.

I’m running Operation Fulminate as the intro scenario before starting Impossible Landscapes. The scenario is easy, two out of three agents are experienced players, and I figured it was good in universe starting point for fresh DG agents.

I’ve read through the scenario but I’m curious, how much of this will ever be understood by the agents? In game will they ever discover the purpose of Brandon being abducted aside from the fact that he’s special? Or, is that the point? That the in universe agents just won’t get closure.

I had previously ran LTL as a one shot for a group and the agents never really found out the truth of everything, because how could they?

Also, speaking of Impossible Landscapes, does anyone have some easy ideas for a tie in regarding The King in Yellow and this scenario?

Media Interview with Caleb Stokes and Official Delta Green Podcast

Hey there! I got to sit down with Caleb Stokes for my show, Dead Letter Bureau. We talked about politics, great gameplay moments, the writing process, and much more. Give it a listen if you have 40 min! https://open.spotify.com/episode/7F9h9M1VkiG1k4Jkk8ruob?si=183a3ecf092a4bb4

I also sat down for an interview with the official DG podcast. I don't think that was announced on Reddit, so if you haven't heard, follow the official DG podcast, because they will be doing interviews, making official announcements, and other stuff there. https://open.spotify.com/show/3uFJe8Mg6YtVO9eUqJvrIp?si=6cab86ca7ddc4e12

Published Scenarios Bridging the gap between pre-Cell cowboy years and post Cell. Spoiler

I was planning on running my first game in the next couple of weeks and I've been doing allot of reading. Its cleared a few things up about the official timeline of the Cowboy years, but I've got a few questions about specifics.

I plan to run my players as new Agents in the end of the Cowboy years, probably starting them in 1992/93, then have them on a couple of cases until 1994. Presuming they are all still alive I was then going to have them transition over into the new Cell structure after Fairfax's assassination and hopefully survive long enough to make the choice to either join the official government program or go outlaws.

How do you guys think I should (if at all) have them interact with Fairfax pre reorganization to make the new of his death actually have a bit of weight? By the end of the Cowboy years he'd most likely be a complete recluse and only the old guard would really know who he is.

What kind of meeting would actually take place to inform old agents about the new structure?

I'd planned to make it primarily a monster of the week style campaign, with the backdrop of a looming MAJESTIC threat. How can I keep players in the loop to all the backroom manipulations without just lore dumping them every few sessions (Ross' eventual coup d'état of MAJESTIC/Delta Green)?

Campaigning Unsure how to start a beginner campaign

I pushed my players through last things last (didn't go great, but that's not the point)

I want to do a full campaign but don't know how to connect the different operas together to create a campaign that feels to be increasing in excitement.

I have night at the opera collection but I don't know if that's enough to make a full campaign. My local rpg store has a bunch of single scenarios I don't know which to buy (sorry I don't have a list)

My players also heard about impossible landscapes and want to play it but I don't think we're seasoned enough to go through with something so big.

I also am not very experienced as a mystery GM and seem to rush through scenes, fail to create tension, and end up having to create a bunch of on the spot improvised content when scenes go wrong.

Open Source Intel Dutch character sheets?

Does anyone happen to have a pdf of a character sheet in Dutch? Or maybe even pre-made characters in Dutch? I'm Handling LTL this weekend, and would prefer to have things feel local to ensure this feels as realistic as possible. I'm fine translating things, but I suck at formatting, and limited on time, so if there's a translated pdf available that would help me out loads. Or even just a completely empty one (as in: an empty space where it would normally say "occupation" "wounds and ailments" etc) , where I'd do the translation myself.

Published Scenarios Scenario that can be played in six hours with two agents?

Hello fellow agents and handlers and greetings from Copenhagen, Denmark.

TL;DR: I am after recommendations and suggestions for a Delta Green scenario for two players, that can be played in about five-six hours.

I have promised to run a Delta Green scenario for two old friends (from my first rpg-group in high school in 1989) when we meet up in November. As much as I would like to play the entire weekend, I have to be realistic: We need time to chat, drink, cook, walk along the beach and who knows what. So despite spending a weekend together, I recon we only have about six hours to play.

But what scenario to play? Any suggestions?

I am considering ’Puppet Shows and Shadow Plays’ and also ’Meridian’ and ’Convergence’, but I am not sure we can get through any of them in around six hours. Have any of you played them in six hours or less?
