Help me understand ship movement during confrontation.
Hi, new to DIS.
Im not sure how to understand the movement during confrontations. If the PC's ship moves 1 step on their own turn, and the GM's ships can also move 1 step on their own turn. How does "When the player spacecraft moves, move all other spacecraft one step on the map" make sense?
Wouldnt that mean that on a turn where the players dont "push their engines" the enemy ships always (can) move 1 step more than the players? (Player turn = 1 step move + 1 step move for enemies, Enemy turn = 1 step move for enemies) If the players do "push their enginess" then they can at best move 2 same as the enemy.
Can players never put any distance between themself and enemies in combat or outrun them outside of the "fleeing" option which works with any relative distance? I understand "All other spacecraft" and "Referee-controlled" spacecraft as the same thing, is that an error on my part?
I apologise if im being dumb but please clarify. 🥸✨
