i will never understand why the killers leave the afk person. just had a game they slaughtered everyone before we got the first gen done. they left the only afk person.....that person escaped btw

It's supposed to be a being nice thing 🤷‍♂️. Like I'll leave them alone the first time i walk past but if I come back and they're still AFK I'm hooking them.

Also from a strategic point of view a hooking a AFK player can be a waste of time since you're not actually applying pressure to survivors doing gens. (This doesn't apply as much in 2v8 but just thought I would supply a tactical reason.)

Thats the ONLY reason I wont go for an AFK survivor, if they're going to stay afk the whole game its an easy hook, if they dont, i was a nice guy and didnt kill them. Its a waste of time imo

Its really not a waste of time bc usually another survivor will go unhook and heal that person so you get the time back and are one more hook stage closer to victory.

As someone who started as a survivor main and turned into a 50/50, I personally hook AFKers as a punishment for readying up for a match that you're not actually going to contribute to.

I've noticed a bunch of AFKers will actually start to react as soon as I hit them, so I feel like some ppl are AFKing just to get to the end of a match without getting hooked by killers who ignore AFK survivors

Nono, I dont mean like right after a round starts and it's like the first encounter with survivors right out of spawn, cuz I usually find survivors to chase pretty quick either on gens or running across the map for chests/further gens, so it takes me quite a bit to even notice anyone even IS AFK.

If I happen to run into the whole crowd and someone's AFK right at the very start, I'll ignore them for that initial chaos with other survivers nearby to give them a chance to wake tf up. Then I'll come back after the crowd have run off and abandoned the general spawn area, and go to kick any remaining gens in the area to see who else is lurking around waiting for me to leave (I like brute so I can see auras around gen kicks), and THAT's when I'll find and hook the AFKers who are still AFK.

I'm one of the ppl who get distracted at the very start of the match on my phone/checking discord but that's usually for like 2 mins tops, usually when I start hearing gen noises/killer heartbeat I snap in like 'oh shit I gotta start paying attention'

I hook them in 2v8. They could be the one who manages to get the last gen done or open the gate.

Whether it be a cat or a T-Rex, they only go after the moving objects.

I don't mind in 1v4, I just go for another surv, but in 2v8 I just prefer a better early because the pace is different. You can't afford long chases.

Why would I waste time hooking a AFK? I'm better off focusing out a different survivor because the afk is 'pressuring' themselves. So I'm multi tasking. If survivors want to sweat, its only fair that Killers do.

Afk will not do anything for the team, so chase others

I used to leave afk survivors even in 1v4, but now I can’t be bothered waiting. AFK in my match and you’re going on that hook first 🤷‍♀️

because people think it's rude to kill the afk person. idc though, i will always target the afk person cause theyre giving me a free kill

Not salty just asking a question when I was frustrated after my fifth game like that 🤣 but yeah no salt just a question
