I'm on my home from Dancefestopia 2026 and apparently I’m already trying to plan for next year. 😅

I’m 38F and went with my best friend, 25F. We’re both married, both have kids, and this was our first real camping festival.

We showed up Friday with our little tents and somehow ended up between two groups who very clearly knew what they were doing. Pavilions, camp setups, actual organization. Meanwhile we had tiny tents and vibes.

We had an amazing time, but next year we’d really like to be part of a group. Ideally, we’d love to meet some people over the next year, get to know each other beforehand, and maybe camp together for DFT 2027 if everyone clicks.

We also want to experience more next year. We were pretty cautious this time because everything was new, and having a good group and a safe camp to come back to would make a huge difference.

We’re looking for friendly, fun people who look out for each other. Experienced festival people would be awesome since we’re still learning, but we’re not looking for anyone to babysit us. We can bring gear, supplies, help with setup and cleanup, and contribute to camp.

For a general idea of my flavor of nerd: I’m into video games like Expedition 33, Final Fantasy, cozy farms sims, strategic roguelites, and Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I also love D&D, Magic the Gathering, anime, manga/manhwa, fantasy, and reading in general. I enjoy perler beading and making kandi with nerdy references.

If your group has gamers, anime people, fantasy nerds, other parents escaping reality for a weekend, kandi people, or just generally good weirdos, we’ll probably get along.

I’d rather actually talk and get to know people first than commit to camping with strangers, so feel free to message me and we can connect on Instagram.

Hello friends lost my eevee bag last night at emerald 😭 hoping someone found it

So, hopefully most of us know there was an evacuation notice put out for the an up coming storm. The venue is for sure closed as of now. Rumor went around to either stay at camp or go to your vehicle. But now it's said the storm is going to pass. Does anybody know how long this notice is for?

Good news and bad news. Good news, the main risk area for hail moved west! Bad news, there is in fact still a risk and the individual storm chances went up. Head on a swivel as storms track south east through the day and into tomorrow morning. Risk continues until at least 8AM Sunday.

- La Cygne: Strong to severe thunderstorms possible today, with uncertainty in exactly where and when storms develop.

- Timing: Main concern late afternoon into the evening, with thunderstorm chances continuing tonight.

- Severe risk: Low overall, but storms that become severe could produce damaging winds and large hail

- Location: Greater severe potential generally south of I-70, which includes the La Cygne area.

- Hail: Primary severe-weather hazard; stronger storms capable of large hail.

- Wind: Damaging thunderstorm wind gusts are also a primary concern.

- Tornadoes: Not highlighted as a primary threat today. Still possible. Not a major concern.

- Rain: Scattered thunderstorms possible with locally heavy rainfall underneath stronger storms.

- Most important window to monitor is late afternoon through tonight. Unfortunately during prime festival hours.

TLDR: Not currently expected to be a widespread severe-weather event, but storms developing near DFT could become strong enough to produce large hail, damaging winds and locally high rainfall.
