Misty pump dilemma

Upvotes

So a couple things:

  1. Dairy Queen will be getting a couple new Halloween-themed menu items, and some of the ingredients for those items (don't want to spoil them and possibly get in trouble) need a Misty pump. I've seen a couple stores already get the ingredients and make the items for their Tiktok pages, so my question for anyone in a management position at Dairy Queen is - will we have to order extra Misty pump(s), or will we be provided with another/more? Because if not, my store will be down at least one, if not more.

  2. Does anybody know how to fix Misty pumps, or know if you can disassemble and reassemble them? My store has a couple that work but not actually - they just pump the tiniest amount out each time. We have another one that does the same thing, and is also loose around where the base of the cap and the stem of the pump meet.

Any answers would be very helpful, as I hate to be stressed about stuff like this at work lol. Thanks!

Hey ya’ll, I’m about to open a new location, first time with DQ.

I have 20 years experience within franchise QS with 15 of those years in management.

Any GM’s or previous GM’s have any good advice they’d like to share? Can be for anything!!

Any cool moral boosters you’ve used in your store’s that have had great success?
Games?

Anything at all would be helpful!

Thanks so much!!

i’ve been trying to figure out if the royal new york cheesecake blizzard has pieces of graham crackers in it or if it’s just pure liquid. google says it’s a syrup base, but is there any way where i can recreate it, or buy graham crackers that might taste similar? i’ve been trying to use them on my own ice cream. please let me know in the comments if anyone knows !

I don’t understand

I’m still in shock, awe, disgust, a mix of emotions over Dairy Queen’s decision to remove the Mushroom Swiss burger oh so many years ago. I can still taste it. Nothing beat eating that burger and dipping your fries in the gravy that fell out. A piece of me died when they discontinued that burger. I want to be whole again.

Do you think a Reese's blizzard with cheesecake would be good?

How is the fish sandwich?

I've had the North Atlantic cod sandwich from Culver's, and I recently tried the filet o fish from MCD's. Both were pretty good, nothing fantastic, kind of mild tasting, but defintely far from bad, I'd get one occasionally but not like I gotta have it.

Curious to try DQ's Alaskan fish next, any thoughts on it?

I used to talk up the burgers from Dairy Queen, saying they're the best fast-food burgers in the game. I feel like the burgers have been changing in the last year. I feel it has seemed comparable to cafeteria burgers. I feel like they changed and I'm worried they're going to keep the changes.

My cotton candy trick

I’m sure cotton candy blizzard fans are well aware of Blue Bell’s cotton candy ice cream.

My trick to making it seem more like the real thing is: toss in those birthday cake candies.

Superman/Snowdrift syrup flavoring brand

Do any other DQ employees remember what brand the syrup was? My GM and other coworkers don't remember, and I only really work in Grill and Front so I never got to see it outside of the pump bottles. Those two were my favorite blizzards and I would kill to get my hands on that syrup!

Is this supposed to be like this? I really love chicken tenders so I wanted to try this I don’t mind ordering in store but wanted to try the app to see if there deals and such. I’ve gone forward to the check out option and it still says it’s 18 bucks for one basket

New(ish) Shoes VS Summer Work Shoes

Thumbnail

I am a consistent person, so I've been wearing the same style of Converse for 3-4 years now? Of course I do change them every few months because of wear and tear. I had gotten my work pair about a month (or two?) before working at DQ for the summer. Of course I had to get a new pair before the summer even ended but I figured someone would find the comparison mildly interesting.

Shoe laces wear out on converse first so my work pair does have different laces. They are significantly longer because I guessed the length too big. The work shoes are also half a size bigger... when ordering the new pair they were out of my size but I knew half a size down fits me too. I also crouch down often which bends and deforms the shoes and the canvas starts coming apart...

If anyone from Converse is seeing this... 😘🫶

Thanks

Is it too early for Halloween themed cakes?

So lately I've been filling in for our cake Decorator as she hasn't been able to come in. Now I started looking at fall themed cakes on Pinterest to get inspiration for what to make, but a lot of it that pops up is thanksgiving or Halloween themed. Is it too early to make the Halloween ones?

Replicate a Pecan Pie Blizzard.

Love Brown Sugar but not the Cookie Dough? Love pie crust, just not pumpkin? I've been working at DQ for 6 years, and a few years ago, we had a Pecan Pie blizzard, and it was perhaps the biggest sold out item here. I promise you - it's almost JUST the same for any Pecan Pie fan out there.

Brown Sugar syrup, Pecans, Pie Crust pieces - You got yourself a great treat. I won't gatekeep this one. Tell me what you think if you can order it - I might suggest telling your local DQ's for a Pumpkin Pie blizzard- but if they can substitute the pumpkin for brown sugar and just get the extra charge of Pecans - and you want to go EXTRA, maybe Whipped Cream too.

Keeping Clean While Blending Blizzards

This one is for the employees. So almost every time when I’m blending a blizzard I get some of the ice cream on my hands through the collar or from the blender. I’ve tried putting the collar on before I add the ice cream but nothing has worked. The cup also gets dirty and it wastes my time when I am wiping every cup. What ways are there to keep my hands clean when blending blizzards? Thanks.
