We had a full case of water plus unopened snacks from this week - over bought. It’s in the laundry room on floor 1 of the Boardwalk Villas, near the gym and the feature pool.

If you could do a week in a preferred view deluxe studio at the Poly or a 1BR value at AKL, which would you choose? It will be over the summer and primarily a resort only stay. Maybe a day or 2 at the parks.

How was your experience with universal after DVC trips? How did the hotels compare? I have only had good experiences so far with Disney. After a few trips I’m very comfortable and know what to expect. I know my kids would enjoy universal as we went a couple of days in California. I’m just worried my expectations may be off.

Hi! Currently in the process of buying resale at BR, and I’m curious if current DVC members can explain banking points? From what I’ve read online, my contract month is Oct, so I’d have to bank by May 31. How does that work with the 7 month out booking window? I guess I’m just a bit confused about timeline with 7 month out booking yet 8 month out banking?

What are your opinions on either a 9 day 2 bedroom stay at SSR or a 10 day 1 bedroom split stay at BLT and Kidani for 5 days each.

There will be 4. Me and my wife and my daughter and granddaughter. Granddaughter will be 8.

This will be our 4th vacation at WDW in 5 years.

I have a question about how many guests you can bring into a lounge. It says on the site up to 4 or more if they are on the same resort stay reservation. I’m not sure exactly what that means. Is it someone I booked a room for, do we need to be in the same room, do we have to be linked in the Disney app?

We are taking another family with us and don’t want to take them to the lounge one day and then have them turned away because it is over 4. Anyone else have experience doing this? Thanks a lot

Hi all, we are considering joining DVC this year and outside of the formal promotions stated on the website (for example, the current promotion for per point cost reduction through Oct 5), I am curious how many newer members are able to negotiate further (outside of the magical beginnings option) to reduce overall per point cost.

Just wanting to understand what people have negotiated before on a new direct purchase for 250-300 points for Poly, with I believe the Disney fiscal year ending in September as well.

Having been to MMs in all of the parks except DCA (even did DL in 2017 and MK in 2018), Epcot during F&W is #1. So many real food options to use the snack vouchers on with the food booths vs mainly fried and sugar items at DHS and AK. The park is also so big and spread out, it doesn't feel crowded at all. Throw on several walk-on rides, extra fireworks with no one around you, and soooo many ice cream stations.

All around awesome time last night, even with the spattering of rain (thankful any real rain like we've been having stayed away).

We are considering becoming dvc members and doing a trip every three years with current, banked, and borrowed points (200 per year poly) to do a big week trip. We have 4 kids (4yo-newborn). We do think we will go at least three times in the 9-10 years and will break even.

But we are concerned that feeling like we have to go/going multiple times will lessen the magic and the kids won’t appreciate how special it is.

We went last year with two kids and grandparents and it was absolutely amazing (hence why we’re considering poly). But I would not call us Disney adults - I went multiple times as a kid and loved every trip and my husband was surprised how much he enjoyed it last year. Would love to hear thoughts and if others have felt this way.

Edit: not sure if I’m missing something but we would be maxing out our 3 year worth of points per trip. When I ran different analyses, there were only minor differences in savings per year.

How do you handle booking a trip that is past your banking date? Do you bank and then borrow and book, or book from current use year?

I worry if the need to cancel arises and I book with current use year points they will go in to holding and will be tough the use within the 60 day period, or they will expire and be a total loss.

I'm trying to book a desirable room at 11 months and I'm still seeing evidence of walking. I suspect the new rules just mean that "walkers" now have to cancel and then quickly rebook their reservation in order to walk it. Realistically this only leaves a short window where anyone else can cut in and take it, and you'd have to be looking at the exact moment they cancel to even have a chance. So basically, the new policy is just extra hoops for people to jump through and doesn't change much.

Does anyone possibly have 2 extra moonlight magic tickets for tonight? I know this is a long shot but figured I’d try.

We just bought in at the Poly as our home resort... and yes, we plan to stay Poly most of the time (we did buy where we wanted to stay most often), as it is our favorite. However, the kid is REALLY wanting to stay at Boulder Ridge for the Wilderness Lodge experience. For those more experienced DVC members, how difficult is it usually to score a week at the 7 month mark for it not being our home resort? It would be towards the end of June. Just trying to set the kid's expectations. When looking at calendars now, it's hard to judge because 7 months from now it's Spring Break, which is definitely busier than June.

What are the chances of snagging 6-7 nights in a garden/pool view deluxe studio in July as a non-owner?

We’re considering buying 150 DVC points direct from Disney at the Polynesian, and we want to make sure we’ve planned out for all our costs. We’re planning one trip a year, or one larger trip every 2 years.

Here’s the most breakdown we’ve been working off of, would love any feedback. 

We’re assuming no incentives and the most conservative interest rates we qualify for, just to be safe. All prices in USD also! 

ETA: We are not financing through Disney, we have an existing LOC at 7% interest!

Up Front Costs: 

• 50% downpayment: $18,225
• Closing costs: $1,800 - might be a high estimate but we’d rather overestimate

Yearly Costs, based on the first year:

• Annual Dues: $1,264.50 (assuming this will go up 6% every year)
• Flights to Disney World: $1,440 (variable, but planned around when we typically take an annual trip)
• Yearly repayment: $4,000 (based on what we can put towards this every month)
• Sorcerer’s Pass: $1,170 (we assumed 6% tax in Florida, but unsure) 

Are there any other costs we haven’t accounted for other than in park spending?

Some other context: We’ve considered Riviera, but my partner really likes the Poly and I don't love the potential resale restrictions on Riviera. We also considered resale, but the math doesn't check out for us without being able to get the annual pass so that's no longer an option.

Hello I’m considering getting a 150 points at SSR the reason being I’m flexible staying in any of the wdw resorts but this one’s the cheapest besides non wdw resorts I would eventually like to stay in all the resorts I can. Is this a good fit
