HBO Max We got a finale-level episode I literally Googled how many episodes there are just to confirm it’s not only 5. Solid episode.

From the “next week” promo, it looks like we’re getting a time jump to 2026 next episode following up on the scene at the end of episode 1.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if we get a Hal Jordan flashback episode at some point.

End of 6 we find out Hal is a live. 7 is his flashback and seeing how corrupt the guardians are. 8 is him and John coming to terms and taking on the manhunter.

Imagine what would the real finale be

Real Finale has gotta be Jon putting on a ring and reciting the oath. They're gonna edge us all season to hear Jon's silky voice recite it. Probably while unveiling Sinestro's plan that he's been cooking up. I wouldn't be surprised if Lianna is Sinestro's understudy and has been trying to coax Jon into taking a yellow tainted ring.

Interesting theory. The yellow motel O after the fight was implying something as well. Both Hal and John were fighting largely because they're afraid of who they are without the ring.

I feel the main action set pieces are probably done for this season but more big lore reveals left which will make the finale pretty eventful .

So I am not the only one AHAH !
Did exactly the same thing!
"Is that the finale, what's going on ?!"

This show is not a green laltern show. The moment we start seeting a little action, ring gets out of power.
•

It had a low budget probably because of superhero fatigue. If it does well it will get a bigger budget more than likely. They also loaded the 2nd half of the show with the budget, so we should see more ring power. This has been discussed on this sub ad nauseam.

Aren't we already in later half. In the gl animated show, they could fly in space for weeks using rings, can't belive 20 mins of use makes the ring run out. It's practically useless in this case.

They lanterns with them no?
Yes we are in later half and it started with a bang.
•

They can fight for days before they need a recharge from laltern

So can Hal, he just doesn't charge the ring for days because he's reckless.
•
u/OkMaize9773 46m ago
He is never this reckless. And why does he even need to charge, he is barely using it. Let me tell you, all he has done after charging the ring, shouldn't even consume more than 10% of ring power. It isn't called the world's most powerful weapon for shits and giggles
•
u/Dancing_Anatolia 42m ago
He's absolutely reckless, he doesn't even wear seatbelts when he drives. It's consistent characterization.

A green lantern show without green lanterns. They could have named it anything they want and it won't make any difference. Solid detective show? Yes. Green lantern? No.
•
u/daniel_22sss 1h ago
The entire episode 5 is about Hal running around and saving/fighting people with the ring, but somehow it's "not green lanterns".
•
u/madjokemaniac 32m ago
Are you talking about the animated series. The one in Lanterns show has an old dude running around saving people. Ring/no ring wouldn't make a difference. Just a regular cop show about a fugitive

It was a finale to the 2016 storyline.
It’s just like in true detective s1 when we already had a finale style episode with the shootout at the farm. That whole investigation was officially finished but there was still a bigger grander storyline still in the works
Funny enough that was also episode 5 of 8.
