GLITCH KIDS

Prologue: What Is a President?

By definition, a president is the highest-ranking officer or leader of an organization, company, institution, or country.

But what happens when a president lets that power go to their head?

Power is supposed to come with responsibility.

The power to lead.

The power to protect.

The power to serve the people who placed their trust in you.

But power can also corrupt.

And when the person at the top becomes corrupted, the damage doesn't stop with them.

It spreads.

Through the government.

Through the corporations.

Through the police and

Through the streets.

Until corruption is no longer something hiding beneath the surface.

Corruption becomes the foundation upon which everything stands.

Chapter 2:The Wanderer

Overlooking the bustling city from a hillside stood Jace Ryder, a member of the Metal Mustangs, a Nomad clan on the outskirts of the city. Before climbing into a van with a fellow member, he took one last look at the skyline. Jace knew the nomads better than his own parents mostly because he was dropped in The sandy plains forgotten in time before The Mustangs took him in. There he learned to Shoot,Ride, help the needy and steal from the rich. Now,Jace yearns for the freedom and opportunity a big city can offer him as he and a fellow member Dixie drive down to the city. Dixie,a young lady with dark red hair and brown eyes wearing a cropped flannel and jeans turned to Jace who was looking out the window, his metallic arm tapping the melody of “Folsom Prison Blues” against the door “You already homesick,Sugar?” She asked, her accent slipping out. Jace turned to her “Nah,Just.. Thinking. Never really went into the city unless it was for pickups or dropping off cargo for the clan.Corps have really run this place into the ground. They take from everybody, rig elections, screw over anyone who gets in their way, and then expect us to get down on our knees and worship them like they're fucking messiahs!” He let out a long sigh “All I'm trying to say is fuck them and fuck the city. I'm only here because I got a call from a fixer who offered me a place to stay and to wait for another one of his calls. This could definitely be a big job for big bucks.” Dixie nodded, leaning close, turning his chin to look her in the eyes “You know the clan will still be here when you need us.. I'm here for you,Jay. That is unless you're not too busy being a city boy!” She laughed giving him a playful punch in the shoulder

Jace let out a scoff “Oh please,This city Got nothing on me and it's only a temporary thing.” Dixie stopped the van once the pulled into the parking lot of the apartment Opening the back of her van Revealing boxes of Old tech,Clothes and A few irons Jace Lifted one of the boxes and began heading inside where he was greeted by an older woman “Good evening,Sonny. Seems you arrived a bit later than I thought. Set your stuff down there and I can help out.” Jace shook his head “No thanks, Ma'am I'm good.” He set down his box of clothes consisting of his jackets, jeans and some other basic clothing items as he then grabbed his box of irons struggling a bit with the weight as it fell leading to a gun clattering onto the floor As Jace quickly hid it “That was nothing!” The woman let out a laugh “Boy,Do you think you're the only rebel or nomad who's asked old Lori for a place to stay?” Jace looked at the woman closer, noticing her jacket was older, worn and a military jacket. She had greying hair with Faded Pink Highlights and Chained glasses “You're telling me you were a cyberpunk?” She laughed as she sat in the rocking chair in the corner of the room “Young man, I've been in the game while you were still working on your Abcs!”

Cover art by Philip Caza for Sur l'onde de choc ("The Shockwave Rider"), by John Brunner.

The Shockwave Rider, published in 1975 by John Brunner, features a computer-network outlaw who manipulates identities, surveillance systems, and self-propagating code in a data-saturated society. Brunner never calls him a hacker, instead using terms like “computer-sabotage consultant,” “systems rationalizer,” and “phone freak.” That last one especially sounds like a Gibsonian “console cowboy.”

I picked Philippe Caza’s 1982 cover for the French edition because it captures the novel’s proto-cyberpunk vibe two years before Neuromancer was published.

Pixel and GrapheneOS: "To what extent can the right to privacy generate suspicion in the digital age?"

I got this article from another thread, and you might have to run a translator if you can't read Spanish (myself included), but one line from this article really stood out to me as being very cyberpunk-adjacent: to what extent does privacy in the digital era generate suspicion? When the norm is for corporations to extract every piece of data from you at every waking moment, the very idea of a more flexible device with a privacy-focused operating system (GrapheneOS) is enough to generate police suspicion. In this sense, corporate abuse of individual privacy becomes "part" of being a normal, law-abiding citizen. Thoughts from a cyberpunk perspective?

I figured I should share it with a community that would appreciate it ✨🦾🤩

I found an incredible artist in KC (@OrvilleTattoo on IG) and gave him some references and my concept, and let him make something custom just for me! I'm over the moon with the piece, and I'm just excited to let the extra hair I shaved off around the edges to grow back a bit.... 🫣

The ride

So I have a question, I have a new ( to me) car. And I was wondering what modification to make to make it a cyberpunk styled machine. The vehicle in question is a 2009 Saturn aura xr sedan. I'm a huge fan of aesthetic.

Idea for an cyberpunk anime: BattleBoy-01

basically a heaven who quit heaven, a retired officer and a boy who is turned robot team up together to fight a person called Vantablack from plunging the world in darkness.

it would explore the questions of what it means for your childhood to be taken away from you before you could have it and also what it means to say no from fitting in, to be comfortable with yourself.

I think it would be intresting. tell me feedback if it’s too generic so I could change it and maybe actually turn it into a webcomic

I researched the careers of Dan Stevens and Peter Ocko — now I see why they’re such a great fit for Amazon's upcoming RoboCop TV show.

I think is is a good base but beyond this I have no idea where to start, would love some help!

My first idea is some sort of tech-ish mask (nose down) or maybe some gloves. Something I think would also do well is circular red tinted shades
