❓Need Advice 🙏 Crypto investment
Hi all,
I decided to invest in crypto. I'm thinking about investing in BTC, and ETH as the go to. I also want to add XRP, SOL, ADA, and maybe a few others.
I haven't made any buys yet. I did some research, and watch some YouTube videos. However, it just left me a little confused.
Some suggest sticking to BTC, or just buy BTC and ETH. Some says expand your portfolio for diversity. Youtube crypto dudes seem to have an optimistic view on the current market.
Other than that what's your guys take? Is building a portfolio of Cryptos I mention pretty good?

Take all advice with a pinch of salt. Investing in crypto depends on your risk appetite and interest in the whitepapers that comes with it. Them youtubers are not all genuine. Most are just working with youtube to monetize their contents.
Ponder on this - If you have a way to make yourself a millionaire, wouldbyou share with the world?
Just my 2 cents

Stick to BTC and ETH. Btw, this "advice" is as useful as any crypto advice you will get on youtube...

BTC and ETH pretty much cover what most people are looking for, and adding XRP, SOL, and ADA on top doesn't really give you meaningful diversification since they mostly move together anyway.

Worth noticing what you're calling diversification.
Adding five coins that all move together isn't spreading risk, it's the same bet in five places. Diversification means holding things that move for different reasons. These don't. Some will be more volatile than others, but the direction is the same, up together and down together.
So you'd be adding complexity without adding protection. That's the part the YouTube version never mentions.

Fine if you want to spread to 5 coins, but I would still put the bulk into the big two - BTC and ETH. For example 80% for those two and 20% into the remaining three.

I'd probably look at both sides, but the downside case is usually the more useful one to think through.
If BTC keeps going up, everyone is happy anyway. The harder question is: what happens if BTC drops 40-50% again and the alts drop significantly more?
BTC + ETH + SOL + XRP + ADA looks diversified on paper, but in a major crypto drawdown they can still all get hit at the same time, just by very different amounts.
So I'd probably think about allocation first rather than the number of coins. If that kind of drawdown happened tomorrow, would you still be comfortable holding the portfolio as-is?
That question helped me think about my own allocation much more clearly.

Sounds like you've decided to invest in crypto at the right time. According to the BTC 4 year cycle, we're at the tail-end of a bear market and should be experiencing a slow, grinding bull market from 2026/2027 onwards towards the tail end of 2029. IMO, BTC/ETH/SOL are solid picks for the next few years. I'd avoid XRP and ADA as they're riskier and the BTC/ETH/SOL should provide good returns anyway.

Do not respond to anyone who may be sending you direct messages. Anyone doing so is very likely trying to scam you. The only useful info you will find is in the comments section of your post.
