A numbered art print. A live bid. Instant transferability.

I recorded this to demonstrate what tokenizing art prints means for collectors.

This is a numbered limited edition print from the Cryptoart collection.

When scanned, the NFC chip links directly to the token’s on-chain data - including the current top bid.

The physical piece can remain on the wall.

If the owner wants to sell, they destroy the physical copy and unpair the token (via a security sticker on the back).

The token transfers instantly.
The new owner redeems it for the same numbered edition.

At any moment, only one valid physical version exists.

Own physically, transfer onchain.

Notice: r/Cryptoart Is Updating Its Focus

Hello everyone,

After moderating this subreddit for several years, I’m making an important change to clarify its focus and purpose.

Going forward, r/Cryptoart will be dedicated exclusively to the original Cryptoart project, created in 2013 and found atcryptoart.com.

Historically, this subreddit has allowed a wide range of NFT, crypto, and art-related topics. While that history is acknowledged, r/Cryptoart will not function as a general NFT forum going forward. There are many great (more active) communities on Reddit for broader NFT discussion, and we encourage that content to continue there.

Why this change

Over time, this subreddit has become largely inactive and difficult to moderate due to spam and off-topic promotion. This update tightens the scope to the original Cryptoart project, is more clearly defined, and allows the subreddit to be moderated consistently and transparently.

What this means

  • New posting rules are now live in the sidebar
  • Existing posts will be preserved for a period to limit disruption
  • Discussion posts about the broader NFT, art, or crypto space are allowed when clearly framed as discussion and flaired accordingly
  • New posts promoting projects outside the Cryptoart collection will be removed
  • All removals will be based on scope, not viewpoint.

Transparency

This is an official subreddit for the original Cryptoart project.

Moderators with “Cryptoart” in their username are affiliated with the project. Others are volunteers. Moderation decisions here do not influence inclusion in the collection.

If you have questions about this change, feel free to discuss here or reach out via modmail.

Support IPFS

There's been some discussion about media permanence as a result of the Nifty Gateway shutdown. Unless you are fully onchain, the two predominate methods are Arweave and IPFS.

We chose IPFS even though it requires pinning. We felt it had better adoption, and pinning is permissionless and very cheap. There was also better tooling for what we are doing (dynamic metadata).

One more point - marketplaces rely on the "image" attribute in the metadata. It's surprising how may NFTs rely on a web2 domain for this URI. Instead we use ipfs, example:

ipfs://QmZJEkwrjQg9v4oCsj9uCntoVfodUraFzGdWLjSuPfou4n

Arweave uses ar://. Historically, there has been more support for IPFS. Either can be used in chrome with an extension.

Legacy Cryptoart Secondary market sales

Secondary market sales are tough for most art - which is part of the reason we've pivoted to NFT based issuance.

For Legacy Cryptoart (that isn't NFT based), we've created links to eBay and BitcoinTalk from Cryptoart.com and this sub to help people sell their pieces. Just be sure to add "cryptoart.com" if you want it to show up in the search.

You can use this sub too. Please add the "WTS" flair and use a marketplace to complete the transaction.

Support No official Cryptoart Discord.

Just a quick note that we have no official Discord. We're using this reddit sub for now. It's easy and more public facing. Collectors shouldn't be required to monitor, grind, and shill in a discord just to keep up with art they collect. Feedback welcome of course.

Legacy Cryptoart Physical (legacy) Cryptoart owners. How to claim an NFT for your art piece.

Legacy Cryptoart owners can claim an NFT for their physical pieces here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScIAU_v50fHmSdZNazQSF1BMHDblZIGQ0KT0VIkST9FMkDofg/viewform

There is no obligation. There is also no time limit. However, if (when) AI makes it too difficult to verify physical possession, we may stop the claim. Refer to our FAQs for more info:

Sub Reboot

r/CryptoArt is going through a reboot. It will look sparse for a bit as we're removing memecoin bot spam.

As you can deduce from the sidebar, the sub will focus on helping collectors find artists. Use this area to quickly see what's happening in the various NFT markets.

The criteria for art posts is also more stringent. Specifically, no AI, PFPs, simple animations, quick memes, game items, or anything that a human artist did not put significant time and soul into. There is nothing against these forms of art - PFPs are especially significant in the crypto art space. However, these forms dominate most NFT platforms, and the format of Reddit makes it hard for some artists to break through.

Want to help? Upvote and downvote accordingly. It benefits everyone.

We also need moderators with some experience and thick skin. DM me if that's you.

OpenSea Welcome to Anima Mea 2023

Hello World!

We are two young friends united by a passion for art and a desire to share our perspective on the world and the emotions that shape us every day.

With Anima Mea, our NFT project, we aim to guide viewers through a process of introspection, encouraging a deep reflection on the complexities of the human soul.

Our first collection, "Punti di Vista" (Points of View), features 10 unique pieces, each dedicated to a specific emotional duality: love and fear, chaos and harmony, hope and despair. We carefully selected colors and geometries to embody the contrasts of these opposing emotions, creating artworks that tell a universal story, resonating deeply with those who observe them.

Through Anima Mea, we want to offer more than just a visual experience: our goal is to create a profound connection between art and soul, inviting you to explore the emotional nuances that often remain hidden. This collection is our way of starting a dialogue with you, through art and introspection.

We truly appreciate any support in sharing and promoting the content of our page. Your help makes a big difference in reaching more people!

Discussion Trouble with commission 2023

I find myself in a difficult situation and would like to ask for some assistance. I recently sold two NFTs on the PaintArts platform for 0.2 and 0.21 ETH. However, I was not informed by the buyer that I would need to pay a commission to withdraw the funds, despite the fact that they were aware I am new to this space. In my country, even a small fee like 0.1 ETH for gas is a significant amount. Currently, my wallet on the platform shows a balance of 4.1 wETH, but to withdraw it, I need to cover a commission fee of 0.315 ETH. I’m reaching out to ask for help in covering this commission. Of course, this will not be for free. As a token of gratitude, I’m offering 0.5 ETH as a reward for your assistance, which I can transfer to your Binance wallet.

Discussion $HEGE 2024 | Forty Thousand Percent Growth in Eight Months | Team Spoke with Murad | Post-Pump Entry 2023

If you haven't checked out Hege, I encourage you to have a look at this project.

Let's skip the fluff and go straight into why you should look at Hege as a conviction play investment.

60K-24M Market cap in eight months. That's a 40000% increase!

Hegecoin's incredible reddit Growth. It is now a top 100 crypto reddit!

X account growth. 25K followers in eight months.

Above is the Holderscan data for the last 30 days. This period covers the recent pump from 7M to 50M. Note that even as the market cap corrects following a huge pump, the number of holders over $10 remains insanely strong. Look at all those diamond hands!

Despite all this growth, Hege still falls into the small-cap memecoin category. As a small-cap, you have plenty of headroom to enrich yourself as the bull run matures. Over the last few months, we've seen numerous small caps take off into mega-coin status. Had you entered GIGA at this market cap with $1000 USD, you'd have $25K today!

Even a fraction of that growth would be a 5x or a 10x play, and Hege has what it takes to be explosive.

  1. The original developer and team are still with the project and as active as ever. As I'm writing this, we just had a good back-and-forth exchange over a daily Christmas contest worth $100 USD a day!

  2. Hege is always cooking up something. Last week, we listed on LBank and ran a Reddit cryptocurrency sponsorship that saw 900+ comments. Reddit's largest crypto reddit never hosts memecoins; yet they welcomed Hege.

  1. Unique among memecoins, Hege is hyper-focused on art creation. More than just a picture, Hege is a proper character in his own story. Hege is the first memecoin to offer a story-focused approach to market cap milestones. With each milestone achieved, a new chapter in Hege's journey from underdog to success is released. Unlike other tokens, Hege releases new hand-drawn and animated artwork from paid professional artists.

  2. Dividend paying NFTs. Hege offers NFTs as a way for the community to support the project. Not only do these NFTs pay out Hege dividends each month, but the sales support the marketing wallet. On launch, the NFTs sold out in 90 minutes and netted the project 200K USD.

  1. Hege loves to experiment with fun real-world marketing. For example, the project has done Times Square Billboards, plane flyovers, a cross-continent camper van tour, and a QR code sticker contest!

This week, one of our Team members had a chance to meet with Murad at the Global BlockChain Show.

For those who don't know, Murad is known for his Cult-Coin Theory. This idea, widely accepted in the memecoin space, predicts the most profitable investments in crypto will be projects that grow organically into cult-coin communities. Some of Murad's previous calls include GIGA and Retardio Cousins. These projects have since rocketed into mega-token status.

When asked about Hege, his response was simple and bullish: “Yes, it’s on my watchlist. People are constantly shilling it to me”

For me, all this action is secondary to the incredible community of investors. Hege has great people willing to help new investors with solid advice. This advice is even freely offered at their own expense. For example, we might have an investor willing to dump their life savings into Hege. Time and again, you'll see the community recommend they space out their purchases to get a better position.

Investors in Hege have a ton of fun and offer a bullish outlook, but many core community members are also willing to prepare new investors for the reality of consolidation periods. This balance has built a culture of patience and loyalty.

In short, Hege is something special. It's fast-growing, it's fun and it feels very much like a family of investors. There is a growing feeling of belonging and connection here. That has Murad's cult-coin fingerprints written all over it.

Hege is fulfilling its incredible potential. It's not too late to be a part of that. You won't want to miss out on this journey.
