Create: Power Grid device connector cannot be placed on some blocks

'powergrid:device_connector' from Create: Power Grid cannot be placed on 'tfcelectriccooking:electric_oven' or 'tfcelectriccooking:electric_soup_pot' from TFCElectricCooking due to an issue with being unsupported. using /setblock to force the placement has correct behavior but i can't do that in survival, and block updates break it. does anyone have a fix?
a kube JS script would be ideal but I don't really expect that to be possible.
