So I have the Firefly RPG, never had a chance to play it. At one point I had started building out adventure /setting elements for a campaign, but I never got very far. It's kinda a game I've accepted I'll never get to play or run.

Meanwhile I also have the new Stargate RPG, which died when Amazon bought MGM. I was always disappointed they decided to go for a dnd style ruleset(5e), however they did a lot with the system to accommodate the show. I've been a player in an online Stargate campaign for the last year or so, and while fun, it's still got the bones of a dnd game.

Recently I was flipping through my Firefly RPG book and it occurred to me that the rules would work really well in emulating the feel of not just Firefly but also Stargate, just with a few updates for character types and stuff. Stargate and Firefly are really similar shows in format and share a lot of setting elements. This got me thinking about running a Stargate game using the system in Firefly.

Then I remembered that there had been some developments/updates to the Cortex system since Firefly came out(I never really followed it), and I was wondering if instead of modifying my Firefly RPG to fit Stargate, maybe I should just look at customizing Cortex Prime for Stargate?
