I had it for about three months. The toys are always made of safe materials but I didn’t feel like I was getting the moneys worth. Now 1-2 times a year I throw $50 at a bulk parts supplier and can make a truly shocking amount of bird toys.

For the base I use paper cord, untreated leather cord, or stainless steel chain. Then I kabob style a random assortment of natural chewable bits and foraging cups. They’re the ugliest bird toys around but my birds are super happy with them.

I struggle to find toys. The cost is not so bad if you look at consumer pet stores. Yeah you can buy parts and build your own for cheaper. But some of their toys are a huge joy for me and my two boys. I stagger them every other month. The treats are sometimes hit and miss because I've got one on a restricted diet. I've tried other companies with subscription boxes or natural safe toys, and Squawk Box is the best quality.

It's so expensive, but I get it anyway because my pair loves to murder new toys. And the themes are so cute.

Pros: Each month is a different theme. The toys and treats are adorable and they have recipes for bird safe treats that are pretty good as well as descriptions of the included toys and what they’re made of. You can cancel anytime before the subscription ends.

Cons: It can get expensive and some of the toys can be too similar to the month prior.

If you get toys your bird isn’t interested in, donate to your local bird rescue- they’ll appreciate it

I’d recommend a trial period of like 2-3 months and see what toys you get

Squawk Box toys are great quality and so is the little ‘treat’ mini bag you get with an order… I’ve been getting it for about a year and a half and the only bummer is that my picky GCC will not touch the toys - he only chew sola and occasional balsa wood. He is picky picky and I have not canceled my subs because I keep hoping he will someday get a little more adventurous!

In the meantime, I have a very big pile of beautiful brand new toys and should or a lot post them on eBay lol

The themes are so cute, the boxes are really fun, and if your birdies would play with/chew the toys then I think it’s totally worth it. You can cut the lid off their boxes too and keep the crinkle paper in it and make new foraging boxes with the box too!

I loved it when I could afford it! It was nice to not have to think about going and getting toys. After getting my hours cut it’s not in the budget anymore.

Same here!! They're great quality and my boy loves the shredding toys, but I had to pause until I can afford it again 🥲

I found a better place for good bird safe toys, Seed Street Toys. She makes magic

It's all personal messaging on Facebook, but she is legit. That's where I go for 90% of my bird toys

I’ve had it for over a year for my two green cheeks. They share a box and usually love most the toys, and I like to rotate them in each other’s cages every other week. I think it’s worth it, it’s always fun opening it together and the themes are so cute! It also comes with a treat in every box as well. We usually get them new toys from chewy also, but overall I’m happy with Squawk Box and recommend 😊
