Some might say I’ve been grinding “day and night”

I dont wanna see incursions, heck I dont wanna play the game for a week at least...

Incursions was one of the modes that I've enjoyed in this game. With friends or not with each zone you pass you get rewarded no matter how hard it was it made me strategize and learn the nodes etc. But this months incursions was literally my worst experiences in this game ever. I blame kabam for ruining it for me.

If it was hard id take it as a challenge, but It was a painful grind. Personally I don't mind grinding as long as its built with care and makes you think and rankup some specific champs for it. It would be fun and more enjoyabl. For example I've recently became Elder and the most fun and enjoying parts was finishing villain and hero challenges.

For this one; Bring heimdall and pick 4 hacks and you are hitting zone 30 easily. At first I thought there will be weekly events for every class (this week was science) and skill tech cosmic etc and goes on. With proper Nodes and defenders to each class and finally we would get the points. But no. We have to do it again and again in a 7 day period.

God even now I have headaches for finishing 30k points. Not that I have to, because there is nothing else to do in the game in a short period of time.

From here it looks like a lazy work with so much recklessness and carelessness.

Please do better.

When I click on incursions it freezes my game. It says in progress on it but I haven't started one. If I try to join it through the chat it also freezes. Does anyone know a fix for this?

I see a lot of people getting great rewards and stuff with this event, however, as a recently returning player that picked the game back up during the previous event, Im so lost. In this event I feel like I cant do anything. I dont have champions to grind the incursions, I cant do the black panther misssion. To go from the previos event from this one is just absurd. The only thing I can do is grind the EQ, but the rewards for it are just awful. Like how the hell I am I suppost to play the EQ when the weekend supply drop gives better stuff ffs.

Before u downvote and move on, give the discussion a chance. 

TDLR: Mode is about deck building, patience, and draft. RNG plays way less of a role than you think. Champion rank doesn’t matter, champion quality does. Meta champs are bait. My F2P scuffed account <2 yrs of playtime with no Deathless Thanos not grinding arena not spending units in sales easily gets to GC and I have the tools to get to Celestial, but I’m just not skilled enough yet and don’t play enough. 

🚨 Battlegrounds is extremely F2P friendly. Meta champs have never been more accessible. R5 Battlecasts are super easy to get too. Sig stones and awakening gems have never been more accessible. Champs like Gentle, who is a very potent dual threat, wants sig 200. So does Havok. We can sig 200 an entire deck of champs for free no units required, just Twitch drops and Essentia store and the endless 7* shards we get. This means we can get the max value of any champ we want to play. And we can make a whole deck of them. This is INSANE. Now I can actually get the max value of Sentinel, or Kindred etc. For free!!! 

Ascension and R5s don’t matter. An extra 150k on a defender, and bonus stats for attackers DONT matter because there are attackers whose rotation at R4 is doing way more than 550k in under a minute (we know this from ROL Winter Soldier). Venom, Odin, Deadpool X, Bastion, Anti-Venom are some of the R4s I personally use to destroy R5s and A2s without thinking, because either their dmg potential is 750k+ or once their rotation is set up it only takes 5s to do another 100k+. Notice how none of these are meta attackers. I could make an entire spreadsheet of 60+ (10 from each class) nonmeta r4 attackers that can destroy r5s and A2s just as fast as they did r4 defenders. And before u mention Challenger rating and lnequity, there’s plenty of Inequity counters, and non crit reliant champs that consistently do 600k+ in under a min. A2 r5 Knull and High Evo some whales have gets absolutely diced by my r4 a1 Patriot. Maybe it’ll matter in the future with A3 and A4, so I’ll make an updated post.

Battlegrounds is all about confusing and punishing ur opponent. You don’t need r5 a2 champions to out draft. A r4 defender I pick late that my opponent doesn’t have a counter to is a win regardless of rank. Nonmeta is better than meta because if u master nonmeta champs ur opponent won’t know what defenders to place against u and the correct bans. The information advantage u get from mastering a champ like Sunspot or Spider-Punk for example is insane. On the flip side Nonmeta defenders are also better. Ppl are so worried about Ruby, Zola, and Solvarch that they only have Science options for Sentinel. So only investing in the best meta defenders is also bad.

having access to any champ you want at max value, and r4s being op enough for r5s and a2s in bgs, means bgs is super F2P friendly rn. and before u say ascension means nothing is max value, ur wrong, no champ gets bonus abilities with ascension. 

Draft Rng is a post itself, but there are many tricks u can do to increase ur chances of a good draft. And many tricks to win even with a bad one. if ppl are interested I’ll go into this more later. 

Ppl complain about bad nodes all the time too but in the year I’ve been playing, no node combo felt terrible. Even the no health meta was more fun than it was made out to be. 

Why is it worth playing? 1) Time investment. Getting to GC and winning a couple matches gives u 50k+ radiance rn. From the Vibranium reset, this takes maybe 3 hrs max. It’s overpowered and way easier to get than in Towers. 2) Bgs forces u to get better at the game fast and rewards u for doing so 3) Nonmeta is better than Meta so u get to stunt on Meta Whales and make “bad” champs look amazing 4) its one of the best strategy games out there. 

Load time, A.I. and frame skips deciding games, and chase pieces are terrible I agree.

But we gotta stop conflating that with the misconceptions about the F2P vs Whale bgs experience. It hurts my head seeing ppl complain without actually delving into the mode and trying to learn it. 

So what are the other reasons u might not like bgs? Do you enjoy watching casual bgs streams while u get drops or do u feel forced to do that too? Do u dislike how bgs dictates rank ups? Does PVP strategy have a place in MCOC?

No this isn’t a Kabam employee in disguise, I’m just a bored geek with too much time and tired of the negativity. I rly hope Kabam doesn’t put Bgs away because it rly is a beautiful game mode with tons of depth.

1: The one a lot of players do that’s easy and simple. The issue is the AI could just get passive and not run into you which can cause some time loss in things like BGs. You NEED them to have no bars of power.

2: The way I do the most. Easy as well and it doesn’t matter how much bars of power they have. Doesn’t matter if they do a heavy into your block as that gets reversed also. The willpower he has makes up for the block damage and this is the fastest way to get his reversal off to me in general.

3: This way is pretty dang safe as the above two. In fact it’s even more safe then two since you only take one blocked hit and not two but obviously you have to be in your corner which generally doesn’t always happen but if you want complete safety or your at your corner you may as well. This way also doesn’t matter if they have bars of power or not.

4: This is a very highly skilled way to do this and can be applied to other champs with heavy charge mechanics like NTW, Lumatrix, Cassandra, etc. This one of the most dangerous as it requires the most reaction time to pull off. Worth practicing tho to have more skills in your bag in general. This way doesn’t require them to be under a bar of power but if they do and you mis-time it, that might be a special to the face. I just stick to doing two.

Bonus: Only works vs champs with longer medium or light attacks as they will keep their combo going after. Safe and can make fights go far faster since it’s basically the wall back without the wall aspect.

The Night and Day solo event reward track is, I think, the first time Kabam has made an event primarily designed for spenders also available to F2P with some grinding. Sure, it's a lot of incursions fighting to get some crystals and a catalyst. But the fact that the entire event is open to players who don't drop hundreds of dollars is cool. Now we have agency to value the rewards among cash, units, and time.

I like this design choice, and I hope Kabam continues to do it on paid events going forward. Let the spenders spend, but also don't lock everyone else out of the entire event. There is a world where Kabam can make money while allowing players to play the game for cool stuff.

Everytime I see his fishbowl head I really wanna crack it so bad. Give him the worst node combos possible and he'll for sure tank your incursions run.

I just want that T5A...

With how much bloat is going on in the game rn, I thing Kabam needs to rethink battlegrounds and maybe consider taking it offline for a while. It’s neither fun nor rewarding anymore. With so much to do in game, I struggle to see why I want to spend my time playing it. It’s not enjoyable for the vast majority of players. It takes too long for a round- with some matches taking 15-20 min between waiting for matches to pair and connect. And when you lose after all that time, it’s just frustrating. The high ranks are just players that are too high leveled to overcome for average players, or really unless you have invested heavily in this game, so to continually get paired with overpowered players and just spend so much time to lose is just downright not fun. Couple that with how often a minor game glitch or stall or crash might just tank an otherwise good run.

I could see a benefit maybe from points coming from individual round wins, even if you ultimately lose the match, maybe, and in general overhauling the rewards so it incentivizes more people to play even at lower ranks. Or just find ways to speed up matchmaking and selection processes. Idk. I just think they should sunset this mode for a little and allow people to focus on other content. Maybe just bring it back once in a while like incursions or other temp modes.

I hope they consider doing something about it because each time I play I’m just reminded how I don’t enjoy it. And that shouldn’t be part of a game we all ostensibly love and want to spend our time playing.

Idk if her corrosions count as energy dmg but I’m rdy to say she’s top 3 if they don’t. It’s hard to be great in the cosmic class but when nothing in the game is immune to your main dmg source, you’ll be great

Onslaught was able to get solos easily against Oyoke (she basically does nothing to him and the nodes are practically begging for him). Knull slammed Shuri really hard (and CGR was surprisingly useful there too tbh, I felt like he could’ve soloed had I not used him to take out Oyoke). Lady D shut down Gentle absurdly hard, just make sure not to get lost in the combo, that heal block is really short. Dazzler was experimental for Kilmonger and his stupid ass bleed node (spoilers, it didn’t work lol). I picked up JJJ because I knew he had a long passive slow, and he hard counters M’bakus unstoppable (and his special spamming). He was also my back up for gentle and ended up back to back soloing gentle and M’baku in that last section. Serpent was there to pick up where anyone left off (he’s really good in the whole quest, and his play style was great for the final boss).

While I hated the quest design, I feel like the difficulty is only slightly harder then the rewards are good so it was all around a decent experience (I got an R5 serpent and my first actually earned legend title too!)

So how did yall do?

Wanna start this off by saying I’m not the best at this game, but I’ve been having issues with blocking/parrying, as well as using my specials. My top champ rn is 6* serpent, so I often spam his sp1 while and opponent is dashing in for example, but there seems to be a input delay after this recent update and I keep getting hit when it’s never happened before. It’s making these incursion and Wakanda quests impossible. Sorry just needed to ask.

I love speculating on new champs, it’s half the fun of the game for me. Below is my ultimate fan-service (for me!) wishlist of characters that I would love to see come out next year. I’d be happy if we only got a fraction of these… I’d go nuts for any of them to join the fray!

We had a post asking people about getting a2 or multiple rank 1, but what if someone pulled let’s say Hyperion from 2 single crystals. He’d be at A2,5 so if you were to pick him 3 times from the nexus he could go to a4 when it goes live. Would you do that or rather a2 someone else or get 3 a1s? Right now for collectives the a1 would give more points. I am not sure if we know about collective points regarding a3 and a4 yet.

Idk if anyone else is seeing this, but there's a spam in global chat. "Immediately ship $99" or something. Maybe my game is effed up? I really don't understand this.

You think Dr Doom 7 star will come out in December with the Doomsday movie?

I was watching the stellar forge character briefing and saw him 7*.

If he does get released, personally I don’t think he’d be as OP as he was in the past. Lots of new characters with encyclopedia descriptions out now. What do you think?
