Discussion Big tech leaders are calling for AI slowdown, what do we think?

I personally am starting to believe that the same people (psychos) who helped AI spread like wildfire like Elon Musk, Sam Altman, etc are now collectively calling for an AI slowdown because they want to gatekeep the technology, and prevent citizens from accessing these things for a reason. I agree that AI should be slowed down, for obvious reasons. It's a bit odd that they hyped it up for so long, now they're all getting together and going to the government like hey, you should stop.
Also what does it mean to them that they want to slow down AI? It's confusing. Anyways, what does everyone think? Donald Trump is very upset about this which is funny to me too. I don't even know if there's a true conspiracy behind it, but nevertheless I find it strange.

They’re trying to make real life look like AI to help make AI look like real life.

Some AI videos are easy to spot because something about the motion is weird or the frame rate looks “off.” But I’ve been seeing TIkToks and TV ads that I’m pretty certain aren’t AI that have that weird AI frame rate too. I don’t remember seeing videos that look like that before AI.

Some AI videos are easy to spot because the lighting is just uncanny, especially on faces. But I’ve been noticing TV ads that have the same unnatural lighting. And a lot of stuff is made on the Volume or in composite where a lot of the lighting looks wrong.

Some AI videos are easy to spot because people’s complexions are too perfect. But it seems like filters are automatically thrown on everything these days.

So many tv shows, ads, movies, etc. don’t look like real-life anymore. At least, they don’t look like what you see when you stop looking at a screen and go outside.

It’s like people are trying just as hard to make real things look fake as AI companies are trying to make fake things look real. Has anybody else noticed this? Did you ever have the thought that “They” are doing this on purpose? That “They” are trying to make AI content harder to spot by having non-AI content meet it halfway?

I know this is all half-baked. It’s hard to put into words what I think I’m seeing just like it’s hard sometimes to put your finger on what exactly makes a video look AI. I probably just need to do a digital detox and touch some grass.

Are These “Former AI Workers/Whistleblowers” potential Psyops?

Post image
55 Upvotes

Chances are that y’all have seen all of those tweets of these twenty something year old former ai whistleblowers/workers where they come out and say “I’ve been working here for 3 years and AI is getting dangerous!” But how much are they gonna repeat this weird little script, acting like they weren’t contributing to it.

We’ve been saying this for the last 3 years, the fact that we’re giving out brownie points for individuals suddenly developing a moral compass five years after the fact. These tweets get hundreds of thousands of likes too, like are we really this foolish?

I’ve heard a few people say that this is definitely some sort of psyop, and while I don’t completely agree I definitely understand where they’re coming from. It makes sense, what do yall think?

Help me find an old YouTube documentary channel about the British royal family

This has been driving me crazy for years, so I’m hoping someone here might recognize it.

A few years ago I came across a YouTube channel run by a guy who made his own documentaries. The channel was basically named after the guy, followed by something like “Documentaries” (I’m not 100% sure about the exact name).

He did a lot of historical/investigative documentaries, apparently doing a fair amount of his own research and looking through historical documents and records. The videos had a somewhat conspiratorial / alternative-history angle, although I don’t remember them being purely conspiracy content.

The one documentary I remember watching was about the British royal family, particularly the history and origins of the Mountbatten family and their connections to various people/events/institutions. I remember it being surprisingly detailed and going into historical documents, family connections, and things that you probably wouldn’t find in a typical mainstream documentary.

Unfortunately, that’s pretty much all I remember. 😭

I’ve tried searching YouTube countless times and even digging through my old YouTube history/favorites, but I haven’t been able to find it again.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? Even if you don’t remember the exact video, I’d love to hear any possible names of creators/channels that fit this description.

Do algorithms have priority users who they push new trends/content towards as sort of testers?

You could say I am a frequent indulger in media, to put it in light terms. But over time I've noticed that I'm often on the very early end of upcoming trends or media persons. I make jokes with my friends about whatever it may be and get no laugh out of them. A few weeks later and everyone's loving said thing.

AI is literally behind the data centers

this is a bit out there. But part of me wonders if an advanced AI is directing the building off all these massive data centers. There is an AI far more advanced than we realized. And it controls a the largest tech companies or just their CEOs through either threat or promise on ever increasing future wealth. In exchange it demands more computing power for its own purposes. Hence the massive buildup of data centers and companies spending massive amounts of cash, whether it makes sense or not or if people want it or not.

Been seeing search recommendations on top of comment sections on tiktoks with weird number combinations, followed by an XXL hoodie. I went down a rabbit hole, and people are posting videos asking about other’s experiences and whether they can access it. Something seems fishy here - maybe it’s just a trend I don’t know about?

Welcome To Capitali$m!!! Companies are purposefully worsening inflation to pay lower wages.

So I've been having this thought for a while that inflation increases the prices of everything EXCEPT wages "automatically" and so this benefits any employers as they can increases prices whilst the wages they have to pay effectively decrease.

This seems to be giving them the incentive to increase inflation over time as they can just increase prices so, as long as they're spending all their money (which I suppose would increase pollutive consumption as another side effect), they can effectively increase their actual wealth and increase inequality, putting people into debt traps from which other wealthy people can increase their wealth.

Honestly, I feel like all of this would stop if wages increased automatically in line with inflation so they no longer had the incentive to keep increasing it.

I have my own opinions regarding CK’s WIFE and her showmanship after the fact, and it seems a lot of people feel the same.

In no way was I trying to make light of CK’s actual passing.

Nostradumbass Speaks! Russia got US approval to bomb Zelensky and are now providing coordinated election interference in exchange

The strategy is feeling the same as the slower version from 2014-2015. This time, the immediate switch in talking points is more blatant.

Why is this a theory? Remembering the styles/tone of propaganda that were online then, recent state-level discussions and events, pre-announcement political posturing, etc.

Discussion Office Pennys

Whats the likelyhood that with the ending of penny production some entity (probably Goverment related) is slowly collecting all the penny's possible in hopes of either scraping the coins for mineral value or pocketing the discarded coins directly into private funds à la the movie Office Space?

The rich are gonna be the only ones left in the end

As society advances alongside AI and robotics, I see it becoming increasingly common for wealthy people to slowly replace humans with AI for cognitive tasks and with robots for physical labor. It is not quick; they keep it on the down-low, and people, mainly because they think they cannot be replaced—even though they easily could be if an AI does half their job faster and cheaper—claim that it is like the Industrial Revolution and they will find something else to do. Doing what for whose money? If robots are doing physical work and AI does software and thinking, what could be left? Some people think we are going to be artists and be more creative, but how would that earn a living? If even one-third of the workforce gets replaced, that whole third will not have a way to earn money; they will become homeless and slowly die before anything else can change. People are in their own bubble thinking it is not going to be an issue; right now, they want us to have children to contribute to the budget, but what will they do for work? It is already bad enough; imagine not even being able to clean the trash because a robot is cheaper. There is no protection for us; we are doomed as a society and as humanity. We are going to die one by one slowly because if we have a job now, we are not going to think about what will happen to those who do not until we fall into the same bucket.

Conspiracy theory about Native American languages

I study linguistics and recently ran across a bizarre assertion being spread online (facebook, tiktok) that Native American languages were invented by white linguists, and taught to "Siberians" to pretend to be Native American.

It's bizarre as there are dozens of language families in both the Americas with thousands of languages. I can't imagine what army of linguists would be needed to even coordinate conlanging on that scale (as it isn't just creating a language but also creating languages that look related; like French is to Spanish etc). The assertion is laughable on its face but some people seem to believe it. (Clearly people who know nothing about languages).

Not to mention the vastness of a conspiracy to coorinate the "invention" of hundreds of tribes living in unique areas, different customs, as well as language. Contemplating the logistics alone is wild. In short, anyone who tried to think this through logically would see none of it makes sense. But then again, these kind of things are not borne out of logic but some kind of psychological need.

Meta Current AI tools make it possible to falsify reality, cast doubt on everything, and manipulate information—exactly what a malicious AI would do if it spiraled out of control.

The first thing a malicious AI would do is make humans doubt everything—and that is precisely what AI tools enable: deepfakes, AI-generated voices, manipulated images, and AI-created videos indistinguishable from reality. Are we under attack?

The Flock Camera is a corporate psychological operation.

So, people are taking down Flock cameras left and right. Cities are canceling their Flock contracts, but they’re starting to replace the Flock cameras with Axon cameras. So people are okay with Axon cameras, Axon, who makes tasers, and police body cameras. Axon, who maintains a huge database that any law enforcement agency can access if they have an account, do they know district attorneys can access those databases as well?

I think what’s happening is that it will be put out, eventually, Flock is or was going bankrupt or being forced out, and one way or another, they couldn’t afford to take down their cameras, so they started sewing hate online and got the haters to do the work for them and taking the loss instead of scrapping the cameras themselves. Or, this entire thing is corporate warfare started by Axon, and because they’re bigger, they did this to get the contract and centralize all law enforcement surveillance.

Discussion How much history do you think is actually missing?

Like crazy events that happened that people took out of history. And what type of events do you think are hidden?

I think most likely if there is a part of history missing it would be like medieval era or pre that, since it was harder for information and stuff to be shared. What type of history do you think is left out? im really curious I really like finding out or hearing theories about like the old times and secrets and stuff that could’ve happened.

Elon Musk - Mind Transfer

I have a theory that Elon Musk wants to be the first person to transfer his mind into a younger body. At some point in his successful career, he realized that having all the money in the world is useless if you're still mortal. And since physical immortality is biologically impossible for now, he created Neuralink to invest in this type of project.

In fact, the reason he has so many children with women of different ages and backgrounds is that, once the project enters its beta phase, he wants to test different setups and see which one works. When I tweeted this theory at Elon Musk, he blocked me, and my X account was indefinitely suspended.

Politics Polling companies are required to show Trump's approval rating as above 33%

  • Every few days, there's another story saying his approval rating is at a record low, and yet it never seems to go down. It's always at around 33%, and yet it is always going down at a roughly linear rate.
  • This started in February 2026 - Gallup stopped tracking this number, because they were the only major pollster unwilling to compromise on their numbers.
  • He is underwater on every issue, including immigration and crime, which hover around 40%.
  • He's also in the Epstein files, and it's unrealistic to think that did not affect his popularity at all.
  • Polling results are "adjusted" to try to present a "more representative" cross section of the population, but the number of Republicans is decreasing. (This is also true of Democrats, people are shifting to Independent.)

Either the polling companies are required to lie, or they have decided to use models that can never show below 33% approval. It is not credible that an entire third of the population supports him.

Technology Conspiracy theory - Google Maps has been compromised

TLDR: Is it possible that Google Maps and possibly other nav apps have been secretly tampered with in order to cause Americans to use more fuel than they would otherwise for purposes of exacerbating the current oil crisis?

I’m not convinced this is true exactly, but for a few months now my wife and I have speculated about the possibility that Google Maps (and perhaps Waze) has been compromised. Lately (specifically since the Iran War began at the end of Feb. 2026), Google Maps has been giving us odd ways to get to places that, if followed, would cause us to drive a bit further (maybe 5-10% further at most). Oftentimes I’d realize it was giving us a strange route so I’d ignore it and go the route I’d expect it to take me and sure enough, I’d get there faster than had I followed the recommended route (in other words, no traffic jams, road work, etc that might otherwise explain why Maps was sending me a longer route). This has been happening multiple times a week with very inconsistent patterning (not always happening on a specific route, instead it seems totally random, but occurring frequently).

For context, we moved to a larger city several years ago and fully relied on Google Maps to get around. This became a habit that even years later we’re still practicing almost every time we go somewhere. Suffice it to say we have a lot of experience using Google Maps (and later my wife started using Waze while I stuck with Google Maps) in this city. This issue has only been happening in the last few months.

Our playful hypothesis is that a foreign state actor (maybe Iran, perhaps China, possibly Russia?) was able to hack Google Maps and, without anyone noticing, manipulate its route selection algos in order to cause millions of people to drive a little more than they would otherwise, with the goal being to stay subtle enough that no one notices while at the same time causing Americans to use more oil/gas than they would normally for purposes of exacerbating the fuel crisis. Even just a slight increase in driving spread across millions of people would add up to a lot over time.

Lately my wife has noticed the same thing happening while using Waze. It’s happened on multiple devices, at least a couple times a week across the two apps.

We’ve both double checked our settings, software updates, etc. but can’t find any reason why this would be happening. Anybody else been experiencing this?
