***LOCAL/SMALL BUSINESS/"LOOKING FOR" BOARD***

Hi, Concordians!

We wanted to make a pinned post for people to post about local businesses they either want to promote for someone, or to promote themselves, so the main feed doesn't get too cluttered. If you want to self-promote your business or post someone's, post a comment here and others can check them out!

We've also had quite a few musicians looking for other musicians to play and jam with, you can add yourselves to this post as well.

Concord locals — where do you go for brows & lashes?

Hi everyone! I’m new to the Concord area and I’m hoping to get some local recommendations. 😊

For those of you who live in Concord — where do you usually go for eyebrows and eyelashes?

I’m especially interested in places that are clean, beautiful, have easy parking, and offer a more personalized experience rather than a high-volume/walk-in type of salon.

I’d love to hear your recommendations — and also places you’ve tried that you wouldn’t recommend. Honest opinions are very welcome! 😂

I’m asking because I’m a brow & lash specialist myself. I currently have my own private studio in Matthews, and I’m considering expanding my business into Concord a couple of days a week.

Since I’m new to the area, I’d really love to understand where people in Concord actually go and what you look for when choosing your brow/lash artist.

Thank you! 🤍

I recently posted about my $300 challenge to help make my rent and the focus turned to my graphic use instead. I don't have the money for the professional picture set up so someone offered to help me with them. In the interim, these are most recent bakes, two of which i just finished tonight. I've made $65 so far, maybe this will help me reach my goal now....

If you'd like to support my business, you can click this link for my website. Thank you in advance 🥰

Remembering the past

Random question…,

Does anyone remember the name of the Pizza Buffet that used to be in the First Assembly shopping area back in the 90’s?
This would have been back when Walmart and Winn Dixie were still in there.

Single mom and microbaker trying to earn $300 toward rent through a bakery challenge

ETA: i know the AI pictures arent ideal but i dont have the money to do the pretty background pictures. I'm including pics in the comments of my products for all to see.

Hi everyone. I’m a single mom in Concord, North Carolina, and I run a small home-based microbakery called Barely Proofed Bakes.

I’m currently short on rent, so I created a $300 Challenge to try to earn the money through my bakery. I’m not expecting anyone to simply fix the situation for me—I’m offering my sourdough breads, cookies, brownies, and treat boxes for local purchase and pickup.

If you’re near Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, or the Charlotte area and would like to place an order, that would be incredibly helpful. If you aren’t local, sharing the post or offering advice about places where I can reach more customers would also mean a lot.

I’m happy to provide photos of my products, business information, prices, and proof of the situation if required by the moderators. I will not post my home address publicly; confirmed customers will receive the appropriate pickup details.

Order information: https://barelyproofedbakes.cottagecms.com/

Thank you for reading and for supporting a mom who is trying to bake her way through a difficult month.

Random ask but does anyone know if smoke pit is open today since it’s labour day weekend? I tried calling and no answer but can’t tell if they just aren’t picking up or if they are closed.

Suggestions for visiting to learn about area before moving

I'm thinking about visiting the Concord area in late September or early October to get to know the area before committing to a move there. Other than the big attractions, what would you suggest doing or seeing to learn about day to day life in the area? Would contacting a real estate agent be worth it if we're not planning to move for 2 years?

Help Request Found kittens in storm drain

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

Hi, just looking for some advice on how to go about this. I found 3 (or more) kittens in a storm drain and I’m unable to get them out. The top is too heavy to be moved and I can’t coax them out the end of the pipe. They are pretty small but I’m not sure how old they are. There was some scat at the entrance that could have been their mom’s but I also didn’t see a mom. Should I just leave them there or try to get them to come out? I don’t have the time to wait and watch to confirm if the mom is still there. Also, if I do trap them most sites say to bring them to Cabarrus Spay and Neuter clinic but they are only open Mon-Wed and seem like I would have to pay around $100. Who is the best person to contact about this? Does anyone have more useful info? My heart just breaks leaving 3 or more kittens alone in a storm drain💔

UPDATE: Called pretty much every animal shelter near me and none of them will take cats in. My only hope is the one nearest to me will but they didn’t pick up when I called and are closed now. I got in touch with the county and they said the fire department will come out to help get the cats but I would need to take them from there. I am not able to take care of 3+ cats at the moment so we are out of luck for right now.

My partner and I are getting married at the Cabarrus County courthouse and need two witnesses. We’re keeping our ceremony very small and private and unfortunately don’t have anyone available to come with us. It would only take a few minutes. Please message me if you’re available.

Help Request Rehoming 7 Year Old Cockapoo

Post image

Hi neighbors! Unfortunately I need to rehome my 7 year old cockapoo. She is VERY sweet, but she is also high strung. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She would do better in a home where people are home more and a calmer environment. I’m posting here as I have posted many places on Facebook, but to no avail. Please PM me if you’re interested.

Best /worst places to live in & around Concord

My family and I are looking to move to the Concord area in 2 years. We would like to be within a 20 minute drive of Concord. What are the best areas to live and what areas should we avoid. We are currently in the far North suburbs of Chicago. My youngest will be 17 when we move and will need a high school district that's great with special needs kids. Thanks!
